- Fernando Arrabal: [first lines]
- Fernando Arrabal: Who is Arrabal? One can answer as Cervantes, as Dostoevsky or as Socrates, if we cease to believe in Plato. I could answer as all of them: "I am what am... I am myself".
- Fernando Arrabal: So all of a sudden, we can think that we are capable of everything, we are hate and love, and we are panic.
- Fernando Arrabal: Who is Prometheus? Prometheus is Stalin, Prometheus is Hitler, he is Franco. Who is Prometheus? He is a man who wants a new man, who wants a better man. He makes him. And we know how it ends, in which ferocious and striking way.
- [last lines]
- Fernando Arrabal: This theatre work is a safe. You open the safe and put a cat inside it. The character is the cat. There are some props! It is an atomic flask. I put the cat inside the safe. I close it! And I ask you, gentlemen, before I open the door, of reopening the safe: is the cat alive or is it dead? And then you say we don't know. You'd have to open the door. No, no! You have to say it before opening it. That's the theatre, they say, now you'll understand. The cat, my cat, Schrödinger's, who is eminent today, my Schrödinger's cat is today's theatre. My Schrödinger's cat is alive, and it is dead.
