A Passionate and Articulate telling of an Ancient Story!
dougf-2184528 October 2021
This inexpensive filming of this incredibly enjoyable musical actually was so artistically directed and produced that at times, the viewer would think they were at a live performance.

The musical score not only presented a clear telling of Caesars rise and fall then ultimate end, it was also a treat to the heart and soul of anyone who loves music! This musical score exhibits a wide gamut of textures, rhythms, harmonies, and styles all interlaced with matching emotional gusto.

When the lights came up, I not only had a deeper understanding of Caesar's story, I also left wondering where I could purchase the musical score that is now stuck in my head.

Bravo to Petrone !!!

Captivating from the 1st minute to the last!
katscottbooks28 October 2021
The music is phenomenal. The story flows naturally. The cinematography is intelligently designed to keep an attentive audience. The actors and actresses are so talented, not only with their singing, but also their movement and facial expressions. Everyone involved in the creation of this film proved that quality comes from the commitment and passion of the team, not a ridiculous budget. Can't wait to see what they do next!

Beware the Ides of March
margarethead-9746118 November 2022
I enjoyed watching, "Caesar The Musical" There are bits of humor and lightheartedness sprinkled throughout the play. The sound track is amazing. Very catchy tunes. I found myself singing and moving along to the soundtrack. A favorite of mine was the song "Pompey, Thats Me". Good humor and joy to watch the gentleman bobbing around on stage. Bravo! A special acknowledgement goes out to Willam Clarence Marshall on his amazing performance in "Beware, the Ides of March !"Loved his costume and his rich vocals he fit perfectly in this role. Great job, to the cast and crew. To Mike Petrone and his amazing casting!!!

The best of operetta and musicals...
bethkilbane29 October 2021
Attended Mike Petrone's award-winning "Caesar: The Musical." Emotive. Entertaining. Powerful. Romantic. Funny. It has the best characteristics of operas and musicals as powerful musicianship and singing lead, but it's accessible and never dull. This is a soundtrack you'll want to listen to on a long drive. Bravo cast and crew. Not to be missed!

Outstanding music and movie!

A truly entertaining film. A fascinating subject, a tragic figure, moments of humor, but most of all a staggeringly beautiful soundtrack. The songs tell the story together, but also often stand alone as beautiful music coupled with perfect lyrics.

It's so bad it's funny
happybirthday-2259523 March 2023
I went to go see this musical with a group of friends thinking because of all of its awards that it was good. It was presented as a very serious production, which I'm sure the creation of it took a lot of work so kudos to the creator. However, as the musical progresses it becomes worse and worse slowly turning in to one of the funniest productions I have ever seen. I personally would not have presented such a film in the serious tone that is was to me. This was also talked about before the showing that it took place before the original Shakespearien play "Caesar" however, it was simply just a retelling of the story in a very bad yet silly manner. I do not mean to hate on the creators or the actors I am sure they put a lot work into this production I just viewed this as a very poor retelling if taken seriously.

A Magnificent Experience
jenmiroglotta28 October 2021
In a world where so many films may be judged by the size of the production budget, the number of Hollywood stars in the cast, or the number of glitzy special effects, this film definitely proves that true talent and creative genius alone are enough to create a masterpiece that leaves no one missing the high budget frills. The well-known storyline comes alive with the captivating music and lyrics of Mike Petrone, and Caesar the Musical transports the audience into a magical theatrical experience that continues to echo in the viewer's mind long after the films ends. This magnificent musical will translate seamlessly onto Broadway's stages, where it is certain to go.

Julius Caesar's life through music and song.
pattikalal31 October 2021
Mike Petrone did a fabulous work of art creating the story of Caesar's life through music. William Clarence Marshall's voice was captivating. I absolutely loved All That Glitters Isn't Gold and You Don't Know. I would love to see this live or even perhaps Broadway some day! What an incredible job with a Cleveland budget. Thank you Mike and your family and friends for an enjoyable evening. Well done.

Best narrative music ever
bestkenya19 November 2022
This is so far the best music tell tale I have ever heard. Very exciting, creative and very entertaining. Caesar the musical lifts mere dialogue into the realm of poetry. It is the communicating link between the screen and the audience, reaching out and enveloping all into one single experience. You are great singers and great actors delivering a song, it sounds like you are simply speaking the words. This is an engaging way that invites creativity and collaboration. Really authentic way to integrate music and storytelling. I am very excited thanks to all of you. I would love to see the full video not just a preview.

Caesar: A Treasure Trove
haydenfrankgrove16 November 2021
After watching the premiere of Caesar: The Musical, I was beyond impressed for so many reasons. First of all, despite the minuscule budget for the movie, it was very well recorded, written and shot. The musical numbers were catchy, haunting and beautiful, the reason for its many film festival appearances and nominations. My biggest thought was: if this is what director and creator Mike Petrine could do in an attic and a temple amidst a pandemic, imagine what he could do with this film with some big-time funding. A very, very entertaining film with some incredible music. Someone, come buy this and make it a Hollywood hit!

A fresh take on the story of Caesar ~ filled with talent!
veddakailin2 November 2021
I was so impressed with this musical and was proud to learn that much of the talent involved came from Cleveland! My eight year old daughter and I had the pleasure of previewing this musical at The Capitol Theater amongst many of the cast members and it truly felt like we were in Hollywood amongst celebrities! We both enjoyed every minute of it. Beautiful singing voices and a witty delivery of this classic story made this musical such a pleasure to witness. I highly recommend!!

Excellent acting and narration
wanderpearle4 December 2022
I absolutely love it! Intense and dramatic! Great acting!! William Clarence Marshall did an amazing job narrating and singing! Everyone has great voices!!

The story is told with intensity and it was creatively poignant!! I've seen this story oftentimes but never in a musical! Had to watch it twice. You won't regret it. Keep making films of this magnitude and you are sure to reach the top! Maybe MacBeth rendition would be great to see on the screen in a musical!

I hope to see this production grow and do great things as it consists of a great cast of wonderful singers and actors! Keep singing for the world!

A Musical that everyone should see
robrisman-159991 November 2021
I recently went with my family and saw Caesar the Musical at the Capitol Theater in Gordon Square. It was a family friendly wonderful take on the mythical story of Caesar. The music is truly spellbinding as it takes you through the life and death of the great emperor of Rome. I would highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys a great and meaningful musical for the entire family. Please do yourself a favor and see this very memorable musical written by Cleveland's own, Mike Petrone.

This musical movie blows me away!!!
joyanzalone6 October 2021
I did not know what to expect when I fell upon watching ( and listening) to Caesar- The Musical-- but I ended up blown away. I studied Caesar in 8th grade, but the story never stuck with me until now. However to watch this dramatic and incredibly well done musical movie left me thinking that every person ever studying this story would not only clearly understand the rise and fall of Julius Caesar, but would be hooked on musicals for the rest of their life. All I could think of when I watched this and above all listened to the songs, that told the story in a most sensational way, was that I pictured being an an audience on Broadway with standing ovations after so many of the songs and rooting for so many of the characters in this well done story outlining Julius Casear. And the songs--the melodies, the words, the music--it captivated me so much that I cannot wait until the music is available for download as so many of the songs are stuck in my head the way special songs always are. The composer and producer of this is nothing short of brilliant and this deserves to go somewhere big. And the interesting part for me is that I had no expectations of seeing something this good .....and then got blown away. Well done!!

Outstanding Work
jimtaylor-3027630 October 2021
The other night I had the pleasure of joining other family, friends, and fans of Mike Petrone in viewing his film Caesar the Musical. Had no expectations. I've always known that Mike was a talented musician. However once the film began, I was blown away by the performance on the screen, and even more, by the music and lyrics that I heard.

As a person who loves live musical shows, I started to anticipate the expected flow of a Broadway show. This show delivered that and more.

Every successful musical has a few songs in it that are showstoppers. This show has that as well. I cannot wait to see this on stage, where Mike will have the opportunity to let his creativity flow.

Great job Mike.....see you soon.

Unique and thought provoking
chachadancergp31 October 2021
Almost everything is unique about this musical. While it has narration it also has individual speech. The sets are few but since all the scenes are of individual or small numbers of performers one is still captivated focusing on the story line and music. And oh, the acting, costumes and songs are all worthy of praise. William Marshal hits low C's and one thinks an earthquake just happened. One is educated, at least somewhat, about the life of Caesar. While his life is full of war and killing one song is sooooo funny one might think the term musical has to be renamed it a musical comedy. I cried from laughter! This is not your expensive Hollyweird movie. But it is a true hit showing what a local entertainment star can do when one has more talent that he can contain. Lets not forget to mention the wonderful tasks done by the Director, Producer, music production staff and others. They either intrigue us with their professionalism and uniqueness or it all fails. Clevelander's have to be proud of our local talent. Go see the show. Mike, you are now more than Mr Cleveland Entertainer. You are going national!

This music will be timeless!
starradurandpmp28 October 2021
Mike Petrone's compositions told Caesar's personal and political story in a brilliant and entertaining way. The cast members made them come alive with extraordinary talent. I will be listening to this soundtrack as much as any other musical I love. I got goosebumps several times while watching the premiere. Emotional - love, war, humor. This has it all. The costumes were fabulous, and I loved the minimalistic sets. Very artistic.

The only reason I didn't give it a full 10 was that the dialog was sparse. With Mike's talent and this wonderful cast, this could go full libretto and tell more story to tie the musical numbers together. (I just want more of Petrone's music. Is that so wrong?) WELL DONE.
