Li won’t believe any of Finn’s story about Sheila being held captive by her lookalike Sugar aka Janet Webber (Kimberlin Brown) even though there’s ample proof.
She’ll assume the whole scenario was more of Sheila’s lies, and that Sugar was sent by Sheila to kill Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and it went backwards.

Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats have announced a new album, Nell’ Ora Blu, arriving May 10th via Rise Above Records.
The 19-track opus is effectively a double-album and promises to be the most ambitious offering from the British doom band to date.
Previous Uncle Acid albums like Blood Lust, Mind Control, and The Night Creeper function like the aural equivalent of ’70s exploitation horror films, each with its own narrative arc. On Nell’ Ora Blu, the band stretch that concept to the limit, creating a seamless listening experience that blends the worlds of cinema and heavy psych.
“I know something like this might have limited appeal, but who cares?” said Uncle Acid mastermind Kevin Starrs. “Most of what we do has a limited appeal anyway! It’s just a real mix of different styles that I like. There are no singles or ‘hits’. Instead, it all just flows along one thing into the next.

Thanksgiving Parade from TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media Group, LLC Thanksgiving
Back in 2007, Quentin Tarantino rounded up some pals for a release called Grindhouse, intended to re-create the experience of going to a drive-in for a schlocky double feature, complete with jingles for the snack bar and fake trailers for other movies. Funny thing about the way that turned out.
The Grindhouse package did fairly well at the box office but the trailers eventually outstripped its performance by a wide margin. Robert Rodriguez’s Machete clip turned into two wildly successful comedic gore-fests, with a third on the way, and boosting Danny Trejo into the stratosphere of celebrity status. Hobo With A Shotgun became a cultish outing for Rutger Hauer. Two other trailers stayed as such – Edgar Wright’s Don’T and Rob Zombie’s Werewolf Women Of The S.S. Stars: Olga Kurylenko, Clive Standen, Lilibet Butanaseva, Litiana Butanaseva, Nick Moran, Lucy Martin, Peter Franzen, Dominique Vandenberg, Rita Tushingham | Written and Directed by Jesse V. Johnson
Writer/director Jesse V. Johnson opens his latest film, Boudica, on an impressive note. Roman soldiers march through a dark, fog-enshrouded, forest. It’s creepy and ominous as if something unseen is waiting for them. And there is, a group of Druids who kneel, chanting in a clearing. The warrior goddess they hoped to summon doesn’t save them and the legion graphically slaughters them.
Meanwhile, in Britania’s Icini Province, Prasutagus rules alongside his queen, Boudica. Despite having to deal with the Roman occupiers life is good for them and their daughters Bre (Lilibet Butanaseva) and Aife (Litiana Butanaseva; On the Morning You Wake (to the End of the World), The Bay of Silence, The Wheel of Time, Kiddyzuzaa).

“Con permiso, Capitan,” the godlike being Q tells Captain Picard. “The hall is rented, the orchestra engaged. It’s now time to see if you can dance.”
Part warning and part explanation, Q’s statement tests Picard’s insistence that the Enterprise does not need his help, that humanity is fully prepared for whatever difficulties they encounter while exploring deep space. Yes, they can deal with Romulans, Klingons, and even that fishhead alien that Mick Fleetwood played in “Manhunt.” But were they prepared for the new enemy that Q sent them to meet? Were they prepared for the Borg?
The excellent season two episode “Q Who?” effectively introduces the Borg as the defining villain of Star Trek: The Next Generation, whose influence continues in later series, especially Voyager and Picard. The conquering hivemind represents everything that Starfleet is not, a demand for sameness and no respect for other cultures or variety.

Talking about the filmmaker Rohit Shetty, the ‘Naagin’ fame actor shared: “Rohit sir, and my fears on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ have taught me a lot about myself. Thanking the ‘Golmaal’ franchise director on the upcoming occasion of “Teacher’s Day”, Arjit added: “I can’t thank him and the show enough for bringing out this braver version of me.

Resident Evil is a video-game franchise with no foreseeable end in sight. And as Capcom’s zombie shooter approaches the big 3-0, it unleashes another entry in the often overlooked animated series of films. Taking place between games 6 and 7, and following 2017’s Vendetta, the story of Resident Evil: Death Island is subject to the same formula as its predecessors. A big threat brews somewhere, and the characters rush in to stop it. However, the new animated film does manage to set itself apart by featuring an all-star cast and complementing the over-the-top action sequences with organic emotional moments.
While the previous animated films — Degeneration, Damnation, and Vendetta — tend to star only a few major characters from the game franchise, Death Island includes four heavy-hitters. Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, and Claire Redfield are all active during this mission.
Death Island opens with a flashback from the Raccoon City...

Young Miko is relaxing on a Saturday afternoon when I reach her on Zoom. Given that she’s about to kick off her first-ever world tour in Guatemala later that night, it’s hardly a regular Saturday, though. “I’m resting as much as I can,” says the Puerto Rican artist, 24. “I’ve been so busy that it wasn’t until two days ago that I realized I’m starting the tour.”
Since releasing her EP Trap Kitty in 2022, Miko has upended the sound of Latin trap with bouncy tracks and incomparable Spanglish lyricism.

As a Western based on real events, "Tombstone" was made with an eye toward historical accuracy, with all but one actor, for instance, growing out a real mustache, to be waxed and curled up in accordance with period photos. Not everything that transpires in "Tombstone" is in line with what really happened, however. The movie documents the feud that erupted between the family of "legendary lawman" Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and a gang of local cowboys in Tombstone, Arizona, in the late 1800s, with tensions spilling over into the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the ensuing Earp Vendetta Ride. Unsurprisingly, though, in compressing a multi-year story down to 130 minutes, "Tombstone" takes some liberties with the timeline of events.
According to MovieWeb, much of the colorful dialogue in "Tombstone" — such as the line from Val Kilmer's tuberculosis-ridden Doc Holliday, "You're a daisy if you do" — is pulled from real newspaper reports.

"Batman: The Animated Series" may be a wholly original take on the Dark Knight but it's also indebted to numerous inspirations. Show co-creators Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, along with writer Paul Dini, were keen to draw on not just the best of Batman's history, but cultural history in general. The goal was to produce a show that, as Dini told Syfy, depicted "a dark world, a world where crime really exists on every level." That approach would often cause them to run afoul of the Fox censors, who weren't enthusiastic about the show's mature tone. After all, this was a Fox Kids cartoon.
Thankfully, the team behind "Batman: Tas" were adept at navigating their way through the treacherous waters of Standards and Practices, maintaining their mature vision despite frequent pushback. And that extended beyond the usual stuff that gets censors riled up, such as violence or edgy language. The...

There have been some great films on VOD, streaming (yes I’m including streaming premieres this year too) and on digital so, as per previous years here on Nerdly, I’ve compiled a list of My personal top 10 of the best direct-to-market titles of the year, be they VOD, streaming or digital downloads. The only criteria is that we’ve covered the film here on Nerdly And I’ve seen the film myself. This list takes in all the films that never made it to cinemas with the list in order of release date not preference, with the month of release listed alongside each film. And man was this list Hard to cut down to just ten films… as it is each and every year!

It’s the end of the world as we know it and HBO Max feels fine. The Warner Bros. Discovery streamer’s list of new releases for January 2023 is highlighted by one long-awaited post-apocalyptic adventure.
HBO’s TV adaptation of beloved video game The Last of Us premieres on Jan. 15. Created by Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin, this story will follow the game storyline of Joel (Pedro Pascal) guiding 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) through a virus-ridden wasteland towards hope. It’s probably gonna be awesome.
The other big original series this month is animated mystery comedy Velma. Brought to life by Mindy Kaling, this show will be all about Scooby-Doo’s bespectacled buddy Velma Dinkley. Jinkies indeed!
There aren’t any major HBO Max original movie releases this January. The first of the month sees the arrival of Ghostbusters (1984), Hereditary, John Wick, and more. Recent theatrical release The Menu premieres on Jan.

Natalie Portman has had one of the most successful careers in Hollywood history since she debuted at age 11 in Luc Besson’s action film Léon: The Professional. Portman has never settled into a comfort zone, appearing in both comic and art films. In the 1990s, Batman was still undergoing a transformation, with Tim Burton's grim "Batman" and "Batman Returns" having altered the perception of the character from his campier Adam West days. Warner Bros. Animation was gearing up to drop a revolutionary take on the hero that would help cement his legacy as the truly gothic and brooding figure of the shadows he was always meant to be. By now, fans probably know the story of how co-creators Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski borrowed from film noir and Burton's movies to create the moody environs of what would become "Batman: The Animated Series." And the late Kevin Conroy, who we sadly lost this year, is famous for his authoritative Batman/Bruce Wayne voice.
But, as Vulture's oral history of the show revealed, there's more to the story of what made the show a success. After all, a dark and moody series...

Exclusive: Apple TV+’s The Morning Show is expanding its recurring cast for the upcoming third season, adding Clive Standen (Taken), Alano Miller (Dexter: New Blood) and Lindsay Duncan (A Discovery Of Witches). They’ll join new series regulars Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm as well as fellow new recurring players Tig Notaro, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales, as well as Julianna Margulies, who is reprising her Season 2 role.
Starring and executive produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show follows the professional and personal lives of employees of media conglomerate Uba, focusing on the group that puts together the network’s morning show. Season 2 found the team emerging from the wreckage of hosts Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions, to a new Uba and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play.

A couple weeks ago, a first look image from the psychosexual thriller On the Edge arrived online. The film had its world premiere at the FrightFest Halloween festival a few days ago, and we’ve gotten our hands on a teaser trailer, along with several more images. You can check those out at the bottom of this article. On the Edge is the latest movie from the filmmaking duo of Jen and Sylvia Soska, a.k.a. the Soska Sisters or the Twisted Twins.
The movie tells the story of “family man Peter, who gets more than he paid for when he books a 36-hour session with the sadistic Mistress Satana, who seems more intent on making him suffer for his sins.“

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” producer Ted Field has boarded the Soska sisters’ new feature “Unseen.”
Based on the audio-only video game “BlindSide” (which was created by Aaron Rasmussen and Michael T. Astolfi) the film will be written and directed by horror auteurs Jen and Sylvia Soska (“Vendetta”), also known as the Twisted Twins. They are currently casting the feature.
Field’s Radar Pictures will produce while Film Mode Entertainment are repping global rights, launching the title at AFM this week in Los Angeles where they’ll screen a presentation reel today (Oct. 31). The Soska sisters previously collaborated with Film Mode on “Rabid,” their 2019 re-imagining of David Cronenberg’s horror film.
“Unseen” is a psychological sci-fi set in the 1970s, where a Boston couple wake up one day to find they can’t see. They soon discover everyone else has also been rendered blind and their only hope is Ada, a...

Update, October 2: A spokesperson for Bruce Willis denied that any ongoing partnership is in place with Deepcake, and the company confirmed that Willis remains the exclusive owner of the rights to his likeness.
October 1: Bruce Willis recently announced his retirement from acting when his family revealed his aphasia diagnosis, but that doesn’t mean you’ll never see the “Pulp Fiction” star on screen again.
A new report from The Telegraph reveals that Willis has sold the rights to digitally recreate his likeness, allowing the actor to “appear” in film and television projects without ever having to step foot on set. The technical wizardry is handled by Deepcake, a new firm that specializes in creating “digital twins” of prominent celebrities.
While Willis is first major celebrity to sell the rights to his physical appearance in this fashion, the trend of using AI technology to recreate iconic performances is clearly picking up steam.

Exclusive: In the wake of Sony minting the start of a cinematic franchise in its big screen take of PlayStation game, Uncharted, which made close to 402M WW, we hear the movie division of its videogame arm, Sony PlayStation Productions, is developing the feature rendition of Days Gone, which Outlander‘s Sam Heughan is circling and Oscar nominated scribe Sheldon Turner is adapting.
The Bend Studios created game, which has sold 9M units, is set in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic. The game chronicles former motorcycle club member, Deacon St. John, as he fights to survive against the forces of despair and mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find the long lost, presumed dead, love of his life. Heughan will play Deacon St. John. I hear Turner’s script will be a love ballad to motorcycle movies; the bike being Deacon’s sole form of transportation,...

Exclusive: Netflix is developing Stronger (working title), a female empowerment bodybuilding drama series starring and executive produced by Insecure standout Yvonne Orji, sources tell Deadline. The project is created and written by Sheldon Turner (Up In the Air) and comes from A+E Studios where Turner and Jennifer Klein’s Vendetta Productions has a first-look deal.
No one would comment but Stronger (wt) is believed to follow Toni Winslow (Orji), a single mom who feels unseen and unimportant. She becomes obsessed with bodybuilding as she explores the surprisingly tenuous line separating self-empowerment from self-destruction, and will undergo not only a physical transformation but also an emotional one.
Turner and Klein executive produce via their Vendetta Productions alongside Orji and her manager DC Wade of Odenkirk Provissiero. A+E Studios is the studio.

The last of Bruce Willis’ films continue to trickle out, and the most recent one to come our way is Wrong Place, which reunites Willis with music supervisor turned director Mike Burns and writer Bill Lawrence, the team responsible for Out of Death. I won’t blame you if you give up on it after reading that.
Frank was a police chief, now he’s a security guard. But when we first see him he’s still a cop. He and his wife Maggie are drunkenly discussing their daughter Chloe being diagnosed with cancer. On the way home from their wine-soaked dinner he swerves to avoid a deer on the road. I’m sure you can guess the rest.

Stars: Bruce Willis, Michael Rooker, Vadhir Derbez, Olga Kurylenko, Michael Rose, John Malkovich, Lauren Buglioli | Written by Jesse V. Johnson, Erik Martinez, Katharine Lee McEwan | Directed by Jesse V. Johnson
Jesse V. Johnson may well be the best director of action films working today. And his latest film, White Elephant may be Bruce Willis’s best chance to add another memorable to his list of credits. Or at least one that’s memorable for the right reasons.
Gabriel Tancredi is an enforcer working for Arnold (Bruce Willis). They have Carlos deal with a rival who won’t negotiate. He handles the matter, but a pair of cops, Vanessa and her partner see him making his escape. Arnold gives Gabriel and Carlos forty-eight hours to take care of that problem. And they get half the job done quickly and easily. But finishing it off may be more work than they expected.
