Sex & Nudity

  • There are numerous references and talk of sex throughout
  • The film opens with a man and a woman having sex, we hear them moaning loudly and making sexual remarks, and we see them from the chest-up having sex in various positions; the woman straddles the man, cuts to the man on top the woman, cuts to the woman lying on top the man as he has sex with her from behind, cuts to the man and woman lying on their sides as he has sex with her from behind. Thrusting and moaning throughout. Meant to be taken in a comedic context; the couple isn't very romantic about the act. Pretty graphic.
  • A woman stands in front of a man and implies that they should have sex in an airplane bathroom; the man turns her down.
  • A woman tells another woman that she needs a trip so she has something to sexually fantasize about while she is having sex with her husband.
  • A woman tells a group of women that she wants men's genitals in her face.
  • A woman uses crude language to discuss the sexual habits of her ex-husband and his new wife.

Violence & Gore

  • Woman vomit and soil themselves while dress shopping
  • A man draws a gun and tackles the woman.
  • A woman grabs another woman and pins her down, bites her back and slaps her on the head; the other woman retaliates by slapping her in the face.
  • Four women play tennis, and two of the women purposely smack the tennis ball very hard, hitting one another in the chest and shoulders (we hear the tennis balls hitting the women's bodies and they wince in pain); one woman then shoves another woman out of the way.
  • A woman slams on her brakes to avoid hitting a porcupine crossing the road, and another car rams into the back of her car.

Profanity

  • 40 uses of "f*ck"
  • 1 use of "c*nt"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A woman tells another woman that she can get cocaine for a party.
  • A woman offers another woman prescription drugs (we do not know what the pills are), the woman takes them and drinks an alcoholic drink and moments later we see the woman acting erratically and intoxicated.
  • A woman drinks to the point of inebriation and we see her stumbling.
  • Men and women are seen drinking wine and alcoholic drinks at parties and in a bar.
  • We hear AA mentioned on multiple occasions.
  • A woman tells her mother she should not go to AA because she has never had a drink of alcohol, a man tells a woman that her mother is his AA sponsor.
  • A woman is pulled over for driving erratically and a police officer makes her perform a sobriety test (she is not drunk).
  • A boy takes a contraceptive pill from a woman's purse, thinking that it's candy. The woman sarcastically tells him that something bad will happen to him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Lillian is in such intestinal distress that she runs out of the bridal shop into oncoming traffic to try and get to a public bathroom across the street.
  • Distraught after destroying Lillian's bridal shower, Annie drives down a country road and almost hits a porcupine crossing the street. The driver behind her slams into her, but then drives away.
