Este documental nos muestra los ensayos que el "rey del Pop" y su grupo de artistas llevaban a cabo para la preparación de una serie de conciertos que llevarían el nombre de "This is it".
Es una cinta ideal para los fans de MJ, pues podrán ver muchos de los detalles sobre la preparación previa de los shows que se iban a desplegar en el escenario del O2 Arena de Londres: el casting de artistas, las prácticas de las coreografías de baile, las pruebas de sonido, los ensayos de canto, etc.
Pero también se intercalan imágenes de videoclips sobre los temas musicales más conocidos del cantante, las mismas tienen una calidad visual impactante y eran el complemento ideal para el espectáculo en vivo.
El documental no nos habla de Michael Jackson, sino que es el mismo artista quien habla de sí mismo mostrándose con una destreza física notable aún a su edad, con la creatividad intacta, con un dominio de escena impresionante, y con un talento encomiable para pensar hasta en el más mínimo detalle del show.
"Michael Jackson's This Is It" nos muestra a un extraordinario y talentoso artista en acción, a un hombre sumamente comprometido con su trabajo, a un apasionado por la música y la expresión corporal, a un idealista que todo lo hace por amor y que transmite sus ideas a través de letras profundas, y por sobre todo a una persona muy humilde y cordial en el trato hacia los demás.
El documental no muestra el ocaso sino el esplendor y el talento de un grande de la música y del baile. Eso sí, como homenaje definitivo al rey del pop no alcanza, pues MJ merece por su trayectoria y su calidad como artista obras mucho más completas y mejor orquestadas.
