Anybody else have the Golden Girls theme song stuck in their head after seeing Strand’s unique way of saying to Madison, “Thank you for being a friend,” in Sunday’s Fear the Walking Dead? Just me? Huh. Maybe you’re still trying to bleach from your brain images from what was arguably the grossest scene in the AMC drama’s history. Or maybe you’re replaying in your mind’s eye these other, less gag-inducing twists of plot. Read on for all the, er, gory details.

James Gunn has quickly jumped up to the top of my favorite directors list. Not just because of the awesome film's he has directed, like Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither, but because he is a freaking cool guy. Gunn is also heavily connected with social media, and today, as promised, he revealed the original Awesome Mix Vol. 1 for Guardians of the Galaxy on Facebook. Here's his reveal and breakdown of the the music:
For the first time, the Entire Awesome Mix Volume 1
In honor of this new Facebook like page, I thought I'd give you what many of you have been asking for for so long. When Chris Pratt and I started working together on Guardians of the Galaxy, I gave him a mixed tape (okay, I admit, a mixed CD) of Awesome Mix Volume 1, that he could listen to endlessly, so he'd know it backwards and forwards, just...

The Democrats may have a more party-hardy reputation than the Republicans, but that doesn’t mean the right isn’t planning to get down with some celebs this week. Speaking from experience (I covered both conventions in 2008), I’d like to note that regardless of the celebrity special guest performing — be it Will.i.am or Willie Nelson — convention parties are pretty boring compared to Oscar parties or SXSW parties, or even say, your niece’s third birthday party. Most of the attendees at the DNC and Rnc alike are delegates in uncomfortable suits, dancing uncomfortably to some band they’ve never heard of.

'I want to tell its story,' Grohl says of the studio, which he'll feature in a new documentary along with the legends who recorded there.

Back in February, after winning four Grammys during the pre-televised ceremony (and before winning one more — and locking up Mvp honors — during the show itself), Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl spoke to MTV News on the red carpet about his plans to honor the late, great Sound City studio with both a documentary and an album.
"There used to be a recording studio called Sound City that was in the San Fernando Valley. Nirvana recorded there in 1991. It was this really beautiful dump in the middle of a warehouse district. A lot of great records were made there," he said. "Fleetwood Mac made records there, Neil Young made records there, Tom Petty,...

I’ve been asked to do a “best of” sort of post to close things out. My best of is sort of a “behind the scenes” experience that brought me to this site a long while ago.
So, where to begin?
Although I’ve only been a Completist a short while here, I’ve been a lurker and a follower of No Fact Zone for quite a while. I used my LiveJournal account as a means to follow Nfz ever since a memorable event, not only in my experience as a fan, but also as a milestone in the progress of the show itself: Rock and Awe: Countdown to Guitarmageddon! It all began with the first ever green screen challenge, followed by the coattail riding antics of the Decemberists and the subsequent rivalry that ensued. It culminated with the final show on December 20th, 2006 – a show that sealed the The...

Taylor Hanson has MMMBopped his way into another year. The Hanson brothers' resident middle brother (and the original Joe Jonas, by all accounts) celebrates his birthday today, as Jordan Taylor Hanson turns 28 years old.
Taylor and his brothers Issac and Zac leaped into pop music superstardom in 1997 when they released their debut album, Middle of Nowhere. It spawned the inescapable hit of that year in "MMMBop," a bouncy, hum-it-til-your-ears-bleed pop ditty about living life to the fullest, which was pretty deep material for a teenager to be singing about. Back then, the guys all had long, flowing locks and even though they've lopped off the hair, they've managed to churn out fun records in the decade and a half since that album first made waves.
Over the years, Taylor (who grew up to be quite the looker) has established himself as a certified pop leading man, not only serving...

Vince Neil has spent the better part of his life as the frontman for Mötley Crüe, the wildest, drunkest, most audacious band birthed by the Los Angeles glam-metal scene of the 1980s. Though much of the behind-the-scenes debauchery was captured in the book "The Dirt," Neil's personal story will finally be told when his autobiography "Tattoos and Tequila: To Hell and Back With One of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen" hits stores in September.
But anybody looking for a sneak peek into Neil's life need look no further than his solo album — also called Tattoos and Tequila — that hits stores Tuesday (June 22). The 12-track album (Neil's third studio project as a solo artist) is made up mostly of covers of songs from some of Neil's favorite artists,...
