What else can we ask for???

A show that keeps getting better and better, keeps you on the edge of your seat with a guaranteed end-of-episode cliffhanger . Only thing I dont like is having to wait a whole week for the next episode !

[7.5] Her purpose - The bravest one

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 8: very good acted with lots of felt emotions, a more thrilling and engaging atmosphere, starting to build momentum, but still suffering from the horrible past - present switching.

The last minutes, though, were very well made, if you put logic aside and suspend your disbelief.

Fade into you.

I guess we are character and world building, because the plot didn't move very far. Well, it started too but then exploded. Not a great episode, but not bad. Hopefully we get some answers in the next episode, the show could use some. The preview for next week alludes to it, hopefully the show comes through, because I feel like the show is spinning its wheels a bit.

Can I just say.... as an early 80s baby, this show has the greatest music, of any show, in recent memory. Though I am completely biased. The show runners, please release a soundtrack!

This show is not super, we all know that. But to be fair, it does have the ability to attach you emotionally with the characters in one episode and make you hate them on the next episode or the other way around. One of the best in tv shows with this ability nowadays and that I respect.

Episode 8

Warning: Spoilers
I think we knew what was going to happen at the end of this one, but it was still an edge of your seat moment.

The drama is there, but I don't know, there's just something missing about this show. A lot of these characters are hard to root for.

Why didn't she jump?!
TheStorytellingCritic11 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The opening of this episode was so random, caught me off guard. I liked Laura Lee as a character as she barely spoke and when she did it was something to help someone else and something to aid survival. That being said, her death didn't do much for me. Perhaps it's because of my losing interest in the show and never really connecting with any of these characters but she was flying above water...why didn't she just jump out?

This episode follows Natalie's relapse, and continued investigation of Travis' death. It follows Shauna and her continued affair with someone she realises she knows nothing about and then is implied that he was the blackmailer- so by my theory, is he Travis's younger brother? It then follows Taissa and Shauna's friendship which featured some OTT acting I must say and enlightens us that the bad person Sammy is seeing is in fact Taissa eating dirt. Where has the eyeless dude gone? They introduced him but haven't seen him since. Finally, we follow Misty, still holding the journalist hostage. I still don't understand her or her motivations in this show. Even in the wilderness, she's been sidelined as a character, but we have to remember she ends up being the leader of the group as we see in the season opener. I hope this isn't an arc we uncover over multiple seasons.

Overall, this episode doesn't do much in the way of acting or plot. It doesn't progress anything in the wilderness, they're back to square one and in the present day, we are pursuing a case that I am no longer interested in.

Please can we just get some more progression for characters and the story. I'm glad Van is alive but she can't really speak and she's the only one that commented and vocally believed Lottie's visions but now she's out.

P. S. What's with this show and when something violent happens giving off a massive shriek into the distance.

P. P. S. Confirmed that Coach was indeed lying to Misty just to get her off his back.

What's Real, What's Not

This show feels like it's genre-bending and I don't know what to expect of it, yet I don't feel riveted to finding out. It feels a little disjointed at times, and I prefer that it sticks more in the realm of realism than fantasy.

Hello. This is my review. Thank you for reading it.

Warning: Spoilers
I was watching episode 8 of Yellow Jackets, 51 minutes in, when I realised that I've cooked dinner, had a chat conversation with a friend, and have been shovelling food into my face, at a worryingly and suffocating pace, for the past 51 minutes (after a little smoke), and I have absolutely no clue as to what exactly is going on. I've heard words spoken, and regurgitating noises, and some women laying in bed and talking. I'm merely filling this silent space, with a television show that I've since lost interest in.

At last

After 3 poor episodes, with no grit, no tension and too much soap opera dialogue, we're back on solid ground. Thank you. The last 3 episodes were so badly written, I assumed the writers had won a competition. This one is much better.

Too Good To Be True. Right is Wrong and Wrong is Right.
jamericanbeauty3 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show, actually I like this show, but I love the cast, so I look forward to it every Sunday. Last week's episode was my favorite episode since the very first episode. It was thrilling, answered questions and moved the story forward. This week's episode was unnecessarily insulting to Christianity and inserted too many flashbacks and cutaways to the present just when the plot was advancing in both timelines. Why does Hollywood have such a hard-on for Christians? I knew it was too good to be true that the devout Christian teen girl was written in a respectful manner for Episodes One to Seven. That ended tonight. In the opening scene, a lifeguard saves her life at a Christian summer camp, mockingly called Lady Magdalene. Really? She looks up at the lifeguard, his cross dangling from his chain, and says "You saved me", and he responds The Lord saved her. Come on! I went to a Christian summer camp and the lifeguards never wore crosses and one saved my little Brother who was being held under by a little girl who couldn't swim (my Brother could swim), and when we all thanked him, he responded like a normal human being. At the end of the episode, this same Christian girl tries to fly a charter plane to get help. It's her "purpose" she says, so she flies off and as the plane catches fire, she just sits there with her cross as if she's accepted this as The Lord's plan for her. What?! She doesn't kick or fight her way out of a window to fall to the water below. Again, what?! Christians believe God gives us freewill. We wouldn't just sit there and burn alive and then explode! There is a certain religion that does believe in martyrdom, and believes being a martyr is a sacrifice that will land you in Heaven with dozens of virgins as your reward, but Hollywood would never dare to mock that religion. While Christianity is mocked and shown in a negative light, an affair (Shauna's) is romanticized and justified. Call me crazy but if your Husband is cheating on you, I think you should file for divorce and move on from the cheating loser, not disrespect your body and vows like him, because now, you're no better than him. Just two cheating losers.
