- A teenage boy and his girlfriend are physically intimate with each other at the beginning of the movie. They cuddle and kiss, and at one point the boy's girlfriend puts her hand on his groin. He smiles, clearly enjoying it.
- Some characters exchange very emotional dialogue about an affair they had together, though nothing explicit is discussed.
- A female character discloses to another female character that she and her husband have not had sex in a while, though this is implied through reactions and not spoken outright.
Violence & Gore

- You see a lot of blood in the movie, and one shot does show two dead characters who are missing some limbs.
- The bear attacks and viciously kills a female character in one scene before dragging her body into the woods. The other characters watch as she is slammed against the car window over and over, smearing blood across the window.
- Two characters attempt to kill the bear, but both are killed. This happens offscreen, but you see their bodies afterward. It's not particularly bloody, but you see detached limbs.
- A character shoots and kills a bear at the beginning of the movie. This is portrayed as a cruel act, as he shoots it multiple times even as it's walking away.
Profanity

- Cursing is throughout the movie.
- The F-word is used several times, as are a number of others.

- One of the characters has a drinking problem. She tells a friend in secret that she still drinks, even though her boyfriend believes she's quit. She also seen smoking, and at one point her friend tells her to put it out because she doesn't want to breathe second-hand smoke.
- One of the characters mentions a drug problem he's had.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The movie overall has a very dark tone and takes on some very emotionally dark material.
- One issue between the characters results in a fairly long and quietly dramatic conversation, in which one of the characters finds out that his wife had an affair with his brother and is now pregnant.
- The bear killing its first victim is quite violent and intense and somewhat graphic.
- The ending is very dark and leaves you depressed.
