- Kayla Hassan: [Visiting him while his being detained] did they hurt you?
- Tarin Faroush: Not yet, they won't until they get me to their embassy
- Kayla Hassan: I tried to reason with my father but he wouldn't listen: he thinks you're involved in the conspiracy with his brother. Even after I told him about "us", he doesn't trust you
- Tarin Faroush: You told him about us"?
- Kayla Hassan: I hoped it would change his mind but if it's "anything", it's made things worse between us
- Tarin Faroush: Listen to me, there is a way out of "this". There are a few men still loyal to me: Bashir is one of them. His agreed to help me escape. As soon as his able, bashir will slip me a handcuff key and a gun in a car for me to find
- Kayla Hassan: You won't hurt anyone?
- Tarin Faroush: The gun is so I won't have to, once I'm free I have a place to stay until the Americans grant me asylum. I want you to come with me: meet me at the Theodore Hotel, promise me you'll come?
- President Omar Hassan: I was told you have my brother, what happened?
- President Allison Taylor: He called CTU and surrendered himself
- President Omar Hassan: I don't understand
- President Allison Taylor: The men that Farhad was working with turned against him and they have taken the nuclear rods: he believes they intend to construct a dirty bomb to attack this city. Now "apparently", these men are members of your covert operations here in the United States
- President Omar Hassan: [Surprised] I find that hard to believe
- President Allison Taylor: Your brother has no reason to lie. By turning himself in, he's facing the death penalty. We have to "assume" his telling the truth, I need for you to give us intelligence files for every asset you have in this country, so Farhad can identify these terrorists
- President Allison Taylor: [after he doesn't respond] I have given you a great deal of latitude to sort out your domestic "situation" and now there's a threat to my homeland and I need your cooperation
- President Omar Hassan: I suggest you turn Farhad over to me and let my people question him, we'll get the answers you need
- President Allison Taylor: There's no time for that: there's a CTU team moving on Farhad as we speak, they need to question on site. I need those files
- President Omar Hassan: What you're asking is a serious breach of our security
- President Allison Taylor: I understand that but you need to understand that if this radiological attack takes place, I will be forced to retaliate
- President Omar Hassan: You would attack my country?
- President Allison Taylor: I will have no choice. I need those files and I need them now
- President Omar Hassan: [after thinking it over] I'll call my head of security, you'll get those files in a few minutes
- President Allison Taylor: [Over the speakerphone] I'm here with Rob Weiss, I was told you have urgent news?
- Brian Hastings: Yes ma'am, we've received a call from Farhad Hassan
- President Allison Taylor: Farhad?
- Brian Hastings: Yes, as we suspected, he was trying to smuggle the nuclear rods of the country: the people his working with turned against him
- President Allison Taylor: What do we know?
- Brian Hastings: Well, Farhad believes they want to use the rods to construct a dirty bomb and set it off somewhere in New York City
- President Allison Taylor: Why would they do this?
- Brian Hastings: Between Hassan's crackdowns and CTU, we've backed them into a corner: this is their "response"
- Rob Weiss: Do you believe him?
- Brian Hastings: Yes I do. Farhad's turning himself in, his agreed to help us prevent this attack
- Rob Weiss: Where is Farhad now?
- Brian Hastings: His in a warehouse just outside the city in Forest Hills, I've enlisted Jack Bauer to lock him down. Now madam President, the men who turned against Farhad are covert assets for the IRK, if we can get access to the IRK intelligence files, Farhad may be able to help ID these men: it'll put us that much closer in tracking him down
- Rob Weiss: Those files are the lifeblood of Hassan's intelligence operations, he'll never hand them over, especially in his current frame of mind. Hell, the man's gone off the "deep end"
- President Allison Taylor: Maybe this will pull him out of it. Tell Hassan we've found his brother and I need to speak to him immediately: contact Tim Woods at Homeland, have him put together a briefing, I need to know exactly what we're facing, God forbid this attack happens
- Brian Hastings: [Over the phone] we lost him: Farhad's dead
- Jack Bauer: Damn it
- Jack Bauer: [Adamantly] I still think we've got another "play", whoever shot Farhad couldn't confirm that he was killed: we came up on him too fast. They don't how badly he was wounded
- Brian Hastings: So what are you proposing?
- Jack Bauer: I'm saying we use Farhad as dead bait. Leak it to the press that we've got him in custody and he survived. We're transporting him to a local hospital where the authorities are going to question him. They'll have to make a move on him, he knows too much
- Brian Hastings: Sounds like a "hail Mary"
- Jack Bauer: Right now it's the only play" we've got but if they make a move on Farhad which I think they will, we'll be waiting for him
- Jack Bauer: [after Hastings doesn't respond] you said you wanted me "in" until this resolved: this it
- Brian Hastings: [after thinking it over] alright, it's not exactly "standard procedure" that your "ferrying" a dead man's body across the city but I am willing to give it a shot. We'll figure out a hospital route and put a press statement together, you get ready on your end
- Marcos Al-Zacar: [Over the phone] mom it's me
- Elaine Al-Zacar: Marcos?
- Marcos Al-Zacar: Yes, listen, I can't talk for long
- Elaine Al-Zacar: What is it? Are you ok?
- Marcos Al-Zacar: I'm fine. I need you to do something for me: it's very important
- Elaine Al-Zacar: Ok, what is it?
- Marcos Al-Zacar: I need you get up right now and leave the city. Go to Aunt Shelly's
- Elaine Al-Zacar: Aunt Shelly's?
- Marcos Al-Zacar: Just do it for me and don't ask me why... leave right now
- Elaine Al-Zacar: This is crazy, I'm not going to leave the apartment in the middle of the night for no "reason"
- Marcos Al-Zacar: There is a "reason", I just can't tell you right now. Please do this for me
- Elaine Al-Zacar: Where are you?
- Marcos Al-Zacar: Don't worry about me
- Elaine Al-Zacar: Well, I'm not going anywhere unless I know you're alright
- Marcos Al-Zacar: I'll meet you at Aunt Shelly's and I'll explain everything: go now
- President Allison Taylor: [Through teleconference] good evening gentlemen
- Tim Woods: Madam President, Brian Hastings over at CTU has brought us up to speed and we're ready to review some "specifics" with you
- President Allison Taylor: Good, I'm listening
- Tim Woods: If you would refer to your monitor: it's a diagram of Midtown Manhattan. According to CTU, the stolen nuclear rods have a maximum explosive yield of three hundred pounds: that's enough radiological material to contaminate approximately one square mile. If the device were detonated in a more density populated area of Manhattan, we could be looking at casualties in the tens of thousands. Doctor Landry?
- Ben Landry: Most of the deaths would be from severe radiation poisoning: the remainder of the victims would "expire" from radiation induced illness, primarily leukemia and other cancers
- Admiral John Smith: We also have to consider the infected area would be rendered uninhabitable for approximately forty years
- Rob Weiss: [Sitting next to Taylor] obviously a citywide evacuation is out of the question?
- Tim Woods: That's right, there are millions of people on this island with a few points of egress: it would take days to get them out, not to mention that going public with this information would cause mass panic
- President Allison Taylor: [Nods] I agree we need to keep this threat from the public for now, focus on our efforts this attack never happens
- Tim Woods: CTU still believes the nuclear rods are outside the city, so their fortifying radiation detection efforts at the bridges and tunnels. We are also "hardening" high value targets, such as the financial district, landmarks, and subways
- Rob Weiss: We can't ignore the the UN may also be a target. Given the danger I think we should evacuate the entire building, we can resume the conference from a safe location
- President Allison Taylor: [after thinking it over, concluding the briefing] alright, inform the delegates of the situation, thank you gentlemen
- Tim Woods: A delegation is preparing to head to Fort McGuire Air Force Base: we'll setting up a temporary OP center there where we'll be able to monitor the situation
- President Allison Taylor: And the other delegates?
- Tim Woods: UN security will coordinate the evacuation: everything should go "smoothly"
- Tim Woods: [after her seeing her distracted] can I get you anything Madam President?
- President Allison Taylor: No, thank you. You've done more than enough, I'm just sorry your first few months on the job have been so "challenging"
- Tim Woods: I wouldn't have it any other way
- President Omar Hassan: I spoke to my aids: they told me my brother's... dead
- President Allison Taylor: I'm afraid so
- President Omar Hassan: When CTU is finished with their operation, I would like Farhad's remains returned to my country: personally, I don't care where his body rots, but my mother would want a proper burial
- President Allison Taylor: I'll see that it's done but right now Mr. President, we need to evacuate the UN
- President Omar Hassan: I am not leaving now, I'm staying here
- President Allison Taylor: I don't understand
- President Omar Hassan: My daughter Kayla is missing
- President Allison Taylor: Missing?
- President Omar Hassan: Kayla is romantically involved with my former head of security: she's run off with him
- President Allison Taylor: Tell me what we can do to help
- President Omar Hassan: I appreciate that but my security teams are searching for her now
- President Allison Taylor: I understand how worried you must be but there is nothing you can do to help her by staying here: please come where you'll be safe
- President Omar Hassan: I can't madam President, she's somewhere in the city and has no idea a nuclear threat exists. I won't go anywhere until she's been found
- President Allison Taylor: [while shaking hands] alright, I understand. I will talk to you very soon
- President Omar Hassan: Thank you
- Renee Walker: [Over the phone] I've been released, I'm free to go
- Jack Bauer: Good
- Renee Walker: Chloe told me what you did: you "leveraged" Hastings. He said you would head up Fields Ops until this crisis is over in exchange for CTU dropping any charges against me. I didn't ask you to do that
- Jack Bauer: I know you didn't but look someone in the White House set you up to take the failure of our mission and I couldn't let that happen because you did nothing wrong. Do you understand me? You need to let this go. You are not responsible for what's happening
- Renee Walker: Yeah, ok
- Jack Bauer: Hey, I meant what I said earlier: when this is over, I want to be there for you... with you
- Renee Walker: I'd like that
- Jack Bauer: Good, I'll have a CTU agent take you to my apartment. I'll see you there when this is over
- Renee Walker: Alright
- Jack Bauer: Look, I've got "chatter" over CTU COMM, I've got to go
- Renee Walker: [Before hanging up] bye
- President Omar Hassan: [Over the phone] it's me. We need to talk
- Dalia Hassan: Don't try to change my mind. I told you I'm leaving
- President Omar Hassan: I didn't call to change your mind. I've called because Kayla may be in danger
- Dalia Hassan: What do you mean?
- President Omar Hassan: She's run away: with Tarin. They've been seeing each other
- Dalia Hassan: I know
- President Omar Hassan: How long have you've known?
- Dalia Hassan: [Irritated] what difference does it make? What kind of danger is she in?
- President Omar Hassan: Farhad is dead. The nuclear he tried to "acquire" is in the hands of the terrorists: they're going to use it here in Manhattan
- Dalia Hassan: No, how did this happen?
- President Omar Hassan: I'll explain later but right now you need to call Kayla. I've left messages but she won't return my calls. But she might talk to you? Please? She's angry at me, I had Tarin arrested. I thought he was part of the conspiracy
- Dalia Hassan: Alright but I'm worried about you too
- President Omar Hassan: Don't worry about me: just help me find our daughter
- Dalia Hassan: I'll try
