This episode features an entirely different musical treatment from composer Frank De Vol, more than slightly reminiscent of DeVol's work on the simultaneously-running The Brady Bunch (1969).
The title comes from the proverb "Let the punishment fit the crime," a theory of justice that considers that proportionate punishment is a morally acceptable response to crime and was used as a comic song in the Gilbert and Sullivan production of "The Mikado."
At the very end, just before Dodie (Dawn Lyn) says "Mama, I love you", the shadow of the boom mike starts to go across her bed and then quickly retreats.
