PERHAPS THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS UNCLE CHARLEY EPISODE

10 Stars All the Way.

The question remains; did writer George Tibbles inspire LAUGH IN with this story, or did George borrow some ideas from the classic comedy show?

It's all about Uncle Charley's lodge putting on a "Frolics Night" vaudeville production, and the guys dressing up as "ladies!" That, of course, includes Charley, who after all is said and done --has to walk home in one of the most insane costumes. Credit to the wardrobe and makeup department for originality.

He meets up with a guy on a park bench, who thinks he's a she --and does that gag remind of LAUGH IN, or what? Crazy stuff, and credit so much to William Demarest, for having a sense of humor to begin with, not to mention showing off his versatility. Never to forget, he was nominated for an Oscar earlier in his career.

Best of all is spotting all the familiar faces in this story; popular comedian Gil Lamb, best known as the elastic man for all his trips and falls, plays Ted.

Distinguished Rolf Sedan, who appeared in many episodes of the JACK BENNY SHOW and BURNS AND ALLEN, portrays a doctor and Larry Blake plays a police sergeant, a role he mastered in dozens of tv shows.

One note. This may be a re-working of the famous episode where Steve had to walk to Ernie's school play --dressed as a tin man! And with very similar and embarrasing results.

SEASON 8 EPISODE 24 remastered color.
