With the painting of the Duke's Rose recovered, the four are chased by another band of mercenaries. The Exarch wants them out of the way. If they can escape, then they'll be home free, and safely in the Duke's court.
Traveling across the edge of the Gust Isles aboard their new airship, the party is attacked. Monstrous creatures dwelling amidst the Cloud Sea leap up towards them at the same time as they are beset by the forces of the Exarch.
