Sandy (Goldie Hawn) comes to Dave (Joby Baker) and Linda's (Julie Parrish) apartment for the chair she loaned them. Losing a comfortable fixture of their living room reminds Dave that Larry (Ronnie Schell) promised to give the couple a chair as a wedding present. Linda insists that he has long forgotten it and they should just buy one. Dave is determined, however, to subtly bring it up to him. Larry apologizes and consents to buy them a new chair. He tells the couple to go to Jansen Brothers furniture store and pick out any chair they want. BUT to tell him the model number so his uncle who works at a furniture store can get it for him at half-price. AND make sure its a Butterfield Middleman. Dave soon finds himself in a mess with mounting costs. Herb Edelman who played Murray the Cop on the film version of The Odd Couple (1968) plays Larry's Uncle Harry. This is an engaging episode for the series with plot twists in place of sheer comedy.
