Fun Interview with Douglas
Michael_Elliott28 July 2017
Deconstructing D-Fens: A Conversation with Michael Douglas (2009)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Fun, if way too short, interview with actor Michael Douglas has him talking about his role in the 1993 film FALLING DOWN. Douglas starts off talking about how he got involved with the production and then he talks about learning how every studio had turned the picture down. From here he talks about what he liked about the screenplay as well as the character and then we get into more screen specific things. The discussion turns to the Korean shop owner as well as the scene with the racist. Douglas talks about some of the controversy the film received as well talks about how the Rodney King riots broke out while they were shooting the picture. Fans of FALLING DOWN will certainly enjoy this interview as there's actually quite a bit going on here. It's too bad it only lasted ten-minutes but Douglas does a great job of fully explaining his ideas on the character as well as why people connect to him even if they don't like him.
