very dramatic journey of a young man in search for love and peace
zionskirchplatz1 November 2009
I just attended a screening of the movie at film festival in Spain and I have to tell you that I was blown away by this. The movie is from German independent filmmaker Tor Iben and features an amazing ensemble. Fine performances all around. The charismatic Frank Christian Marx as Tom gives his sad character a very realistic and intensive turn, one look in his eyes and you will fall in love. Jasper Joseph is great also as his object of affection who has a dark secret. In his movie Iben created a word where hope is gone and Love is lost. Tom's search for love is both cruel and poetic, beautifully shot, especially in the scene where Tom eventually finds a way to save his soul in the arms of a stranger (very charming: Austrian actor Robert D. Marx). I hope the DVD comes out in the US. If it does you really have to check this out.

what a wonderful movie

This movie is a real treasure. A wonderful story about unfulfilled love and the thin line between living and dying. It's the story about Tom, a typical gay man from berlin. The title of the movie is preferring to the soul of Tom. He is already dead inside, murdered by the city of berlin and his unstoppable desire for sex. Frank Christian Marx does an excellent job portraying this lonely character who is destroyed by his own nature. At the end of the movie there is a glimpse of hope. I can tell you that without spoiling the film. But I'm not gonna tell you if the hope lasts. If you have a chance to see this movie then go for it. It's a real treasure.
