A strong continuation.

Lindsey pushes Geoff into considering his future, Helen struggles with day to day life, she and Dale continue to bond, their relationship growing stronger.

It's such an interesting story, I was sold on the opening episode, and this continues to offer quality viewing. Plenty of events and plotting to keep you intrigued.

Halley's comet made for some pretty magical scenes between Helen and Dale.

Helen's story continues to fascinate, one question I have though, Helen's erratic behaviour, do we know what the cause of it is yet, have I missed that, or is it still yet to come. I'm still not totally sure if Dale is interested in Helen for the right reasons, in some ways she seems to be mothering him.

Once again, immaculately produced, with some amazing music of the era.

7/10.

The first episode dealt with the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.

The second episode focuses on Halley's comet, a damp squib for most of us.

Helen's personal headspace is still in turmoil. There is no doubting her skills as a news presenter.

The bosses realise her talent and she has a bright future. This is not good news for veteran anchorman Geoff Walters. He is being slided out of the exit door.

As for Dale Jennings. Everyone thinks he is sleeping with Helen so he tries to keep his distance from her.

The Newsroom works if you are part of the audience that remembers the mid 1980s.

I did not realise that Anna Torv who plays Helen is related to the Murdoch dynasty. It adds fresh vibrancy given Rupert Murdoch's influence in the Australian media at the time.
