Let me explain you (as a Peruvian citizen)
rodrigolaguna10 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Al Fondo Hay Sitio, the longest running Peruvian soap, based on the typical differences between a rich and a poor family. This programme was only a "rather enjoyable way to pass 1 hour of your day in front of your TV", and I mean...REALLY? If your character is poor but aiming to become a supermodel, in love of the rich family matriarch ex-fiancé, why do you have to act like a stupid, immature kid?

If you are the granddaughter of the same rich family matriarch, why are you crazy as hell??? These are some of my questions that, after seven years this show was first aired, no one could ever answer them.

Overall, it is not something GOOD to watch but if you like it...take it!

PD: The set of the show (Yeah, that house and the other mansion) is currently demolished.

Repetitive and boring
luissbeltran12 July 2022
Series that has a format already used for many years, characters, situations, even jokes, repeated, lacks originality and becomes very boring to watch.

I truly believe this is a Hit

I am trying to see with the eyes of a person who enjoys a whole variety of series both American and Latin American. This series has its charm, as it is refreshing to see something new and not the cliche of most soap operas. This show has no problem at showing you the good the bad and the ugly of both the rich family and the poor family, and the concept of both class and cultural translocation. I have so far enjoy the first 39 episodes of this program and I usually make up my mind on the first and/or second episodes. If you are a person who enjoys a combination of drama, comedy, and reality, this is the show for you..You will see also multiple instances of "Picardia Peruana". I also have to highlight the multiple Peruvianisms within the conversations of characters. For someone who may not have grown there will have a hard time understanding such Colloquial Spanish. So grab the closest Peruvian friend and ask them for the meaning of words such as QUAKER= ESPESO= annoying or CHELA= cerveza because otherwise you will be misunderstanding this program altogether.

A nice blend between Sit-com and Telenovela
jcoronelb21 June 2010
A poor family moves to and old half-build house in a wealthy neighbourhood, that house was given as a gift to the family for many years of hard work... Problems happen when their half-build home happens to be next to a family with lots of money and power. In the beginning both families absolutely hate each others values and costumes, the powerful family tries to do almost the impossible to get the poor family out of their exclusive neighbourhood; but as time goes by the discover that they have more in common that they ever thought and they realize that what's important is not what you have it's what you are.

Very nice mixture of drama, love, comedy... it has the "punch" of a "telenovela", but it's light enough to be watched everyday.

Excellent National Rating, The Only Reason I Continue To Use TV!

I'm Peruvian and this series has all the modism and slangs well rooted in Peruvian culture, the characters are charismatic and have a distinctive theme song, currently they have expanded from being only in "Las Lomas", Peru to being able to reach Punta Sal and even to Paris, France, the return of the 2022 series provides a lot of fun and new plots, recommended.

It's Still Going In 2023

The show has transformed a lot from its first airing which was about the working class and indigenous Gonzales family moving into a 'pituco' (upper class) neighbourhood and annoying their 'pituco' neighbours - the Maldinis.

Of course, the programme has now been going for nearly 15 years so the Gonzales's and the Maldini's have sorted a lot of their issues out but what AFHS (as it is known by its abbreviation) is, is a cultural, social and media institution in Peru, shown more or less daily in Peru and with a large following, the future stars of Peruvian television and film usually cut their teeth here and some of them come back and star in the show after they have made it. It has survived ten series until now, here is to another ten more!
