Also, Danny and Baez clash when their lead suspect for the murder of a legendary comedy club owner is one of Danny's favorite standup comedians, and Eddie balks after she agrees to an undercover assignment for Anthony then learns his informant is Don Voorhees, a former corrupt parole officer she and Jamie arrested.
- Jamie rides with a Rookie, he sends him out and the rookie is confronted by an unruly person, whom he arrests. Jaime joins him and recognizes the person and offers to handle it. The Rookie files a complaint stating that the report he filed contradicts what happened and the one who was arrested is released. And it is brought to the attention of Frank who meets with Jaime and he doesn't give a validation explanation,which causes a rift between them. Danny and Baez investigate the murder of the owner of a famed comedy club. People tell them a burned out comic had words with the owner. Danny is a fan. When they talk to him he is belligerent. Baez wants to arrest him but Danny wants to investigate more.Beaz thinks Danny is not being objective. Eddie is asked to Help Anthony prove a P.O. When the rookie is shoved and injured unprovoked by a bag lady in the railway station, Jamie recognizes the perp as a homeless veteran who saved Danny's life in Fallujah, and orders Valle to cut her loose without explanation, stating in his report he couldn't make out what happened. Frank and Gormley question in vain why Jamie keeps mum about the ordeal, and the argument between father and son continues into Sunday dinner after Jamie gets a reprimand and community service in the very shelter where Danny and convinces his combat friend to enter rehab after several unsuccessful tries by Jamie in the past. Danny and Baez disagree while investigating the murder of a controversial stand-up comedy club owner when the lead suspect is Emmett Fells, one of Danny's favorite comedians whose alcoholism leads him downhill since a family trauma. While Danny turns to other potential suspects, Baez believes Danny is too star-struck to accept that the evidence points toward Fells, but changes her mind to see through his fake confession. Eddie reneges on an undercover assignment with Anthony facing the informant: former corrupt parole officer Don Voorhees, who needs to 'earn' a recommendation to get a security firm job.
