Government leaders often face harrowing conflicts while in office, especially during times of international crisis. While they strive to compassionately reason with their country's supposed enemy, in order to maintain international peace, their neighbors at home are often left struggling to even recognize their decision to engage their foes.
As U.S. President Jeffrey Michener, Co Cdr Tom Chandler and their fellow officials continue to try to stop a potential war with Asia in The Last Ship Season 3 Episode 4, the American public remains rightfully perplexed on why their leaders are seemingly helping the opponents who are posing the most damage to them.
The sci-fi series justly took a break during its latest episode from focusing on the brewing emotional clashes between Tom and his fellow government officials. Instead, the story intriguingly emphasizes how the Western leaders are trying to reason with their Asian counterparts, even though their efforts are drawing dire criticism at home.

Fellow Liberal Dead-heads, this is Ryne from The Moon is a Dead World. I’ve signed on to do a sort of recap/review of each week’s horror hits, so welcome to DEADtime TV. Again, Kevin Lovell helps out with reviews of The Following, and Shawn Savage will be picking up the remainder of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. This week, Bitten ends its first season run. Will it be back next season? And better question, will I get up the courage to review it again?

Everyone is having a hard time sleeping in Resurrection, and that’s because the newly resurrected Caleb keeps claiming that there’s going to be more people coming back from the dead. From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, Season 1, Episode 5, “Self -Contained”
Written by Matt Morgan
Directed by Joe Menendez
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on El Rey Network
“Let’s Get Ramblin”, the fourth episode of From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, was a high point for the freshman series. It was a technical achievement, funny, twisted, well executed, and it moved the story forward. “Self-Contained”, the show’s fifth episode, is another high point for the show, which just keeps getting better and better.
“Self-Contained” is a tightly wound and nerve jangling episode, set mostly in the Rv as the Fullers and the Geckos scramble for power and control over their desperate situation. In that manner it’s not all that different from “Let’s Get Ramblin”. We bounce between characters but each story is fleshed out and we are given a chance to care about what is happening.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
On Monday’s Mistresses, however, Karen (who puts the “lose” in “delusional”) offered an alternate viewpoint: Insanity is going into a deposition, ignoring even the most mundane details of your lawyer’s instructions and confessing to a wide variety of professional malpractice and personal misdeeds — while implicating yourself in a possible felony — just so you can turn the shank-eye on your romantic rival, flip your silky cascade of hair and sigh, “And now my conscience is clear — I doubt you can say the same.

Is time travel possible? Can history be changed?
Imagine you had a time machine and went back into the past. While there you meet and accidentally kill your grandfather before he got married and had kids, one of them your own parent. Then you automatically wipe out your own existence, right? But if you have never existed, then how do you go back in time and kill Grandpa?
This is called The Grandfather Paradox, and it is probably the most famous example of what is termed a temporal paradox. This scenario was first described by science fiction writer Rene Barjavel in his 1943 book, Le Voyager Imprudent – translated, The Imprudent Traveler. (I didn’t know that, either. I looked it up.)
The Grandfather Paradox is not exclusive to killing Gramps. The entire plotline of Back To Future depends on Marty, um, “pre”-uniting his parents after he inadvertently interfered with his father,...

"Ingenue" Atoms for Peace Amok (Xl Recordings)
Thom Yorke, Flea, long time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, session drummer Joey Waronker, and percussionist Mauro Refosco have conjured up some heady experimental rock and electronica juju on this album of Radiohead-like alt-dance and fragmented rock tunes. Much of what I hear on this album had its roots in Radiohead's Amnesiac -- vague lyrics, off-kilter rhythms, Yorke's falsetto vocal phrases. Get your groove on, like Thom does in the video on the next page...
The Mavericks In Time (Valory)
Raul Malo has a voice as angelic as Roy Orbison's. He and his country-leaning Mavs -- original bassist Robert Reynolds and drummer Paul Deakin, along with the more recent guitarist Eddie Perez -- have regrouped and released their first new music in ten years, entitled In Time, including tunes co-written by former Nrbq badass Al Anderson. Last month I was lucky enough to...

While not all films mentioned below are necessarily guaranteed future place among the Sundance Film Festival elite, it’s certainly a step in the right direction for the filmmakers and more importantly the producers backing the future of independent film. Among the eleven project participants below selected for the annual Creative Producing Labs and Creative Producing Summit (July 30 – August 3) in the Feature Film category we find such names as future superstars in Summer Shelton (she worked with Ramin Bahrani) and receives the first ever Bingham Ray Creative Producing Fellow, Tory Lenosky (worked as an assistant to Jay Van Hoy and Lars Knudsen) and Lucas Joaquin (second unit producer for Beasts of the Southern Wild). Here is the full press release below.

Randy Jackson, wipe that stunned expression off your stupid face. Jennifer Lopez, mop up your phony, ridiculous tears. And Steven Tyler, go back to bed. (Honestly, dude, you’ve been taking the world’s greatest public nap for the last six weeks — why get invested now?) Because while the three of you sat there Thursday night at the American Idol judges’ table, collecting your seven-figure salaries and expressing your anger over the obscenely premature elimination of the exquisite, talented Pia Toscano, you failed to acknowledge your own culpability in her demise.

In case you had any worries, Ryan Seacrest’s sadistic streak is not only alive and well, but “wonderfully” reinvigorated after a 10-month hibernation period. On Thursday night’s American Idol Top 13 results show telecast, our host played Road Runner to MySpace Contestant Karen Rodriguez’s Wile E. Coyote, lulling her into a false sense of security just to dangle her back out over the precipice of possible elimination. “You are all safe!” he gleefully announced to Karen and fellow contestants Jacob Lusk and Stefano Langone at the midway point of the show, before taking a deep breath and adding...

More and more women are making their voice heard in the science fiction and fantasy arena. One of the biggest boys clubs that still remains standing is the space opera sub-genre. Yet like all the others, it is being infiltrated as well.
Marked by larger than life settings, epic battles, cool gadgets and romantic adventures across space, it is best known to the casual observer in the form of a little movie called Star Wars. Keep in mind the definition of the sub-genre is often argued, the work itself has evolved over the years, and many purists would not even list Star Wars there but I’m sticking by the label. *sticks out tongue*.
One of the ladies that are giving voice to space opera in its literary form is Elizabeth Bear. Her trilogy in progress, Jacob’s Ladder, begins with the novel Dust.

The "Glee" Season 2 premiere is almost here, but until Sept. 21, Zap2it has more details on what to expect when you tune in.
Let's just say that for "Glee" fans, the episode titled "Auditions" is a treat and addresses many of the concerns that were brought up for the second half of the freshman season. That's not to say that everything's perfect at McKinley High, because what would be the fun of that?
Zap2it had the opportunity to screen the first episode back at the "Glee" premiere party Tuesday night (Sept. 7), and we're here to share some of the goodies with you.
Spoiler alert: We won't try to ruin the biggest surprises, but a couple plot points will be addressed, so if you want the full, unsullied experience, don't read any further.
What you'll see:
Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) gets a good chunk of screen time, and he's hilarious.

Welcome to TV or Not TV where this week is bitter sweet (and I’m two days passed my deadline).
This Friday will be the final ever episode of Dollhouse. Although both seasons of the show didn’t start strong both really amped things up after their first six episodes. The writing was on the wall for the future of the show so the writers and producers geared up for a proper series finale that, so far, has been a pretty good ride.
When you tune in Friday you might be a little confused if you haven’t rented or bought the first season home video release (and if you didn’t make sure your DVR was set to record it at 8 Pm instead of 9 Pm, it’s ending an hour earlier folks). I’m telling you this now because there is still time to get to your video rental...

The fall movie season is upon us, and there are some interesting choices out there, the first of which are hitting theaters right now. For autumn, get ready for a host of films that will ramp up the creep factor...before destroying the Earth (one film isn't just opening in the fall, it's about the fall—the fall of humanity, that is), after which we'll find ourselves visiting another planet.
For those who like horror, there's several choices, typically mixed with either humor or romance. You'll have flesh eating zombies in Zombieland (read our early review here), the Devil in drag in Jennifer's Body and effete vampires in New Moon. Meanwhile, another dark subject appears in the form of the posthumous tribute of sorts to Michael Jackson in This Is It; you might say horrific given the circumstances and timing.
And, of course, if all that's not disturbing enough (and let's face it,...
