This is a loving portrait of Candid Camera founder Allen Funt, written and directed by his son Peter Funt. As Peter Funt would be the first to admit, it is a low-budget affair, but this is easily overlooked when your subject is the hilarious history of the radio and TV show. It does not shy away from slightly negative aspects of Allen Funt's personality, as well as career stumbles. Clips from Candid Camera are interspersed throughout, luckily, so just when you might start thinking about checking the time, you will soon be laughing again at one of the classic candid set-ups.
