“I’m not going into this show trying to be anybody but Sherri.” That’s one of Sherri Shepherd‘s main goals for her new daytime talk show Sherri. Stepping into The Wendy Williams Show‘s time slot starting September 12, the syndicated show will be Shepherd’s first solo adventure on daytime TV following successful runs on The View and as a Wendy guest host. As the Sherri logline teases: “Sherri’s warm, relatable, and engaging personality will shine through as she offers her comedic take on the day’s entertainment news, pop culture, and trending topics with the daytime audience. As America’s favorite girl next door, her comedy-driven show will feature celebrity interviews, informative experts, moments of inspiration, and amazing everyday people to create an hour of entertainment escapism.” Speaking with journalists during a press conference for the upcoming series, Shepherd explained her priorities for the Sherri feel.

As Sherri Shepherd gears up for the launch of her daytime talk show, she got some advice from a bona fide professional – Oprah Winfrey! In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the “Sherri” host revealed that Winfrey reached out and offered her a wealth of wisdom.
“I took 15 pages of notes until my fingers cramped up,” Shepherd said of the informative phone call.
“I took a potassium pill because my fingers were cramped, and I couldn’t write anymore,” she jokingly added. “I said, hold on, I have to commit this to memory because nobody will believe that I’m talking to and laughing with Oprah.”
Shepherd revealed that Winfrey preached important lessons on maintaining a positive energy with her audience and not being too focused on the show’s numbers.
“One thing I took from Oprah is, she said, ‘Sherri, the show is not about the ratings, it’s about the energy.

In 2021, Wendy Williams left The Wendy Williams Show due to health issues. Guest hosts stood in during her absence, one of them being Sherri Shepherd. Now, The Wendy Williams Show has been canceled, its last episode airing June 17. And Shepherd will take over the show’s previous time slot with her new talk show, Sherri. When Shepherd originally filled in for Williams, she was set to host for only a few days. Ahead of the Sherri premiere in September, the show’s bosses behind the decisions are explaining why they chose Shepherd as Williams’ successor. Executives at Debmar-Mercury, The Wendy Williams Show‘s production company, said Shepherd was one of the most popular guest hosts by far, according to show ratings. The syndicated TV programming group previously tried to set up a show with Shepherd that never panned out, so her success as Williams’ temporary understudy made her the clear successor.

Sherri Shepherd wasn’t a nominee at the 13th Aafca Awards on Wednesday night, but she certainly had the look of a winner.
Shepherd was on hand at the annual awards show — which celebrates the best in film each year — to present the best actress award to her “Chi-town sister” Jennifer Hudson, who the organization’s near-100 members honored for playing Aretha Franklin in “Respect.”
“I’m so in awe of her, that she has reinvented herself but she’s still singing those soulful gospel songs, then she’s pop, then she can get in there and act her butt off and did an amazing job in ‘Respect,’” Shepherd told Variety about Hudson on the red carpet outside the Sls Hotel in Beverly Hills. “Now the girl’s got her own talk show — welcome to the block, sis! — so, it’s very, very exciting to support her in this manner.

Sherri Shepherd is making her wishlist of guests for the first season of her upcoming talk show Sherri, premiering in September. And she would “of course” welcome Wendy Williams as a guest on the show.

Chicago – December 9th is the 2014 second season premiere of “Ground Floor,” the TBS workplace comedy featuring John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”), plus Skylar Astin and Briga Heelan (seen in the film “Pitch Perfect”). Chicago native Cindy Caponera is a writer and co-executive producer on the show.

Things are a bit fishy in Sherri Shepherd's world right now, as the surrogate mom she hired just gave birth to a baby boy.
However, the former “View” host has declared she’s not responsible for the newborn given that her estranged husband Lamar Sally supposedly conned her into the whole thing.
Sherri says Sally “defrauded her” when she initially signed the documents as he was planning on divorcing her and seeking child support compensation.
As it turns out, Shepherd may be right as Lamar was present at the birth and has filed for sole physical and legal custody.
