If you had told me at any point before Feud: Bette and Joan was announced to the world that there would one day be a TV show that spent a full hour recreating the drama of a single Oscar night, I would never have believed you. If that imaginative hurtle was cleared I would then preemptively call it the single greatest TV hour in the history of television. But here we are with Feud and the reality is, if not the fantasy, still the best hour of Feud as a series. Feud: Bette and Joan really does has the misfortune of airing after the 2017 Academy Awards. After the sniping in the press and in person, Bette and Joan's rivalry reaches a head in "And the Winner is... (The Oscars of 1963)." As you can imagine from that title, the episode covers the 1963 ceremony. Snubbed by the Oscars, Joan does everything she can to steal Bette's limelight and Best Actress nomination. This might be the best episode of Feud yet, but the drama that Joan Crawford makes happen pales in comparison to the most recent Best Picture debacle with Moonlight and La La Land.

Last summer’s edition of Food Network Star was something of a collapsed soufflé — after a lot of time and effort, the end result (a win by the relentlessly inauthentic “Cowboy Lenny” in an otherwise dubious field of cooks) had me wondering if it was time to retire the recipe altogether.
Season 11, however, has felt like a trip to a Michelin-rated restaurant following a month locked inside a White Castle.

All this week, we’re presenting the Vulture TV Awards, honoring the best in television from the past year. The nominees are: Fresh Off the Boat Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Black-ish Jane the Virgin Last Week Tonight With John Oliver And the winner is... Black-ish. There are a lot of recent sitcoms and sketch shows that plausibly lay claim to the adjective revolutionary, including Key & Peele, Inside Amy Schumer, Jane the Virgin, Fresh Off the Boat, and Transparent. But Black-ish is by far the sneakiest, because when you're watching it, the tone is so disarmingly relaxed that it takes a while to realize that what you're seeing is at all unusual. The show's narrator, advertising executive Andre "Dre" Johnson, isn't just an educated, upper-middle-class black man with a house in the suburbs, three smart-alecky kids, and a beautiful, kooky surgeon wife named Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross); he's the anchor for a...

‘Twas a bittersweet Christmas celebration at The Late Show on Friday, as David Letterman welcomed back a beloved guest for one last hurrah.
Darlene Love, who’s been belting her holiday classic “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for the past 28 years, returned to the Late Show stage for one last performance — and you’d better believe she went out with a bang.
A red ball gown, falling snow, a full band and choir… There’s no doubt about it, Ms. Love outdid herself this year. (Side note: CBS recently released this supercut of Love’s performances over the years, which is also a must-watch.

After her less-than-pretty first interaction with Sam and Dean, Supernatural‘s new witch, Rowena, isn’t itching to get close to the hunters again.
“I like to keep my healthy distance, if possible,” her portrayer Ruth Connell says with a laugh.
That might be easier said than done now that Rowena has been captured by one of the duo’s biggest frenemies, Crowley, who also happens to be her son!
Needless to say, Tuesday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c) is going to feature one “complicated” reconciliation, with mother and child very much “cut from the same cloth,” the actress previews below.

Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Martha Stewart may be the least gangsta beef ever, but at least it’s delicious for the rest of us?
It all started when Martha said of Gwyneth: "She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."
To which Gwyneth joked, "No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated. I'll try to recover. [But] if I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition. I really am."
