Enjoyed every minute of it

Now I have a new hope for this show, and I hope it's a new beginning that continues, because this is the kind of writing and storytelling I can get behind!

4x05 "New Hopes, New Beginnings"

I loved this episode. It was a huge improvement over last's week. The themes of family, business, resentment and forgiveness were all amazing. This is the first episode of the season where every character actually has an interesting storyline.

Perfect

What a fabulous episode! Im so glad I decided to stick with this show because the writer of today's episode was clearly not the writer of last weeks, and it shows. I was on the verge of quitting when more black and white scenes appeared, but this episode renewed my love for Dynasty. Keep it coming!

Finally Dynasty is being written for people over 13

Finally the writers deliver a mature episode, great character development, and consistant storytelling. The Colbys got a really good storyline. Dominique was great and showed depth, guilt and regret. Michele played it so well, she "painted with a fine brush", not playing it weepy, just a clean and subtle performance. Culhane and Sam's story was well written. Blake and Cristal's story was very good. The comedy and drama has never been so well balanced. Really enjoyed seeing Monica again and Jeff was great. It would have been nice to see more of Alexis though. But 4x05 was one of the best written Dynasty episode I have seen. It was a huge improvement over last week's trainwreck of an episode.

More of this please

Finally, after being ignored for numerous episodes, the Colbys are front and centre and better than ever. This episode proved once again that everyone's more interesting than Fallon. I loved that in 4x03 Alexis was the focus, and now in 4x05 Dominique is the focus. More mature storytelling like this has been missed, and I appreciate that they weren't shoving constant jokes down our throats. Dynasty is a business drama first and foremost, not a sitcom comedy. Hopefully we can leave that dreadful nightmare from last week behind.

Give me more!

Wow! I was amazed how much this felt like an episode from the 1981 series. Kudos. I've missed these dynamics and drama since S2. Glad we are moving back into the direction which made me fall in love with the reboot!

Laziest writing ever...

Warning: Spoilers
So that guy, smart enough to confuse stupid Michael and frame him for something he didn't do. Falls for that ridiculous and predictable trap? Didn't he knew Sam was an accointance of his? I am so sick of the way some of the show's storylines are handled. Dominique's mother died, and it takes away half of the runtime, when she was never mentioned before? The Colbys are just as insipid and stereotypical as in the OG series, so why all the unnecessary focus on them? If it wasn't for Michael Michele's performance, they would have no character worth caring for. They really need to stop with Crystal too. She's pointless this season. Actually, everyone except the Carringtons and a couple of characters, are. They should've gotten rid of the Flores dead weight characters and storylines, a long time ago.
