- Superman: How do I do this? How do I stop the new subjekts, Edge the way he is now, and save Jordan all at once?
- Lois Lane: You can't, Clark. You have to let us help you. You and John Henry can take down Edge, and Jonathan and I will save Jordan.
- Superman: How?
- Lois Lane: With the same device that Edge used on you to access your memories. We can use it to save Jordan.
- Superman: Lois...
- Lois Lane: You and Kyle and all the other people that Edge used as subjekts, you all said the same thing: that there was a darkness that overcame you when you were eradicated. I've been helping Jordan push through that darkness his whole life. I can do it now. I can access his memories and wake him up.
- Superman: Yeah, but they won't just be Jordan's memories. They'll be Zeta-Rho's, too. And if he realizes you're in there like I did with Edge, he'll wake up, and then he'll come for you.
- Lois Lane: And if that happens, Jonathan will be there. I have seen him under pressure and he is in complete control. Clark, you and I brought the boys into this superhero world and I wasn't sure it was the right thing to do, but I have seen how capable they've become. They're strong, like their father.
- Superman: Like their mother.
- Superman: Zeta-Rho was just toying with me. Jordan's still in there, but I don't know how much time we have before he's gone.
- General Sam Lane: Scheer, Knopes, Foss.
- Superman: Edge eradicated some of your soldiers?
- General Sam Lane: Six of my best.
- Lois Lane: Were they from Smallville?
- General Sam Lane: None of 'em.
- Lois Lane: Well, why would he do that? Their powers won't last.
- John Henry Irons: He must just need them temporarily.
- Superman: How'd he do it?
- General Sam Lane: Created some kind of energy field.
- John Henry Irons: Like in Centennial Park. When I used one of my solar flares on him, it made a dent.
- Superman: Then we need as much as we can get.
- Lois Lane: Call Lyla. Get another missile from A.R.G.U.S.
- General Sam Lane: The one they sent was the only one they had.
- Jonathan Kent: Okay, well, there's gotta be something else we can do, right? Right?
- John Henry Irons: I have some solar weapons left. I-It might do the trick.
- Lois Lane: [to Jon] Plus, there's the ones you took.
- Jonathan Kent: Okay.
- John Henry Irons: Look, son, how about you and me see if we can throw something together?
- Lois Lane: Tell me where Edge took Jordan.
- Leslie Larr: Well, I don't know. This world's pretty big. Just think of all the places he could hide.
- Lois Lane: [pushing her up against the wall] WHERE IS MY SON?
- Leslie Larr: Your son? I'm sure he's long gone by now.
- Lois Lane: What have you done to him?
- Leslie Larr: The world's best investigative journalist can't figure that out? All you care about is one person when everyone else on this planet's about to die. How pathetically human.
- Lois Lane: We're gonna find them.
- Leslie Larr: Really? Because you have no idea what's coming next. Even Superman won't be able to stop it.
- D.O.D. Soldier #1: Time's up.
- Leslie Larr: I'll say.
- [to Lois as she's led away]
- Leslie Larr: That look on your face, I know it well. It's the same one I had the moment I realized there was nothing I could do to save Krypton.
- General Sam Lane: I need you all to go home and stay there until we tell you it's safe to leave.
- Chrissy Beppo: It isn't safe?
- Aidy Manning: But they said on the news that Superman saved Metropolis.
- Sharon Powell: And the people he infected were apprehended.
- General Sam Lane: He did. They were.
- Emily Phan: Then why are you still in Smallville?
- Chrissy Beppo: Because Edge wasn't caught, was he?
- Lois Lane: What about Edge's fortress in the Badlands?
- Superman: I looked there. Mine, too.
- Lois Lane: Well, his office, his lab?
- Superman: I've searched them all.
- Lois Lane: You can't hear him anywhere?
- Superman: I'm listening for both of 'em.
- Lois Lane: Well... I don't understand. Where could he be hiding?
- Superman: I don't know.
- John Henry Irons: My A.I. hasn't picked up anything yet.
- Superman: I'm gonna go back out.
- John Henry Irons: I'll come with you.
- Superman: No, please just stay here in case something happens.
- Lois Lane: Clark.
- Superman: Lois.
- Lois Lane: You have to...
- Superman: I will find him. I will not stop looking until I do.
- General Sam Lane: Clark, when Zod was in your mind, how tough was he to overcome?
- Superman: Nearly impossible.
- General Sam Lane: All right. I'm gonna go prepare for when we find him, 'cause we will, or he'll find us. And I'll need to know what you want to do when that happens.
- A.I. Device: I've been unable to locate Jordan Kent or Morgan Edge. Shall I continue searching?
- [getting no response]
- A.I. Device: John, shall I keep searching?
- John Henry Irons: Yes. And don't stop.
- Superman: [fighting Zeta/Jordan] Jordan, stop!
- Jordan Kent: Dad. Da-Da-Da-Dad. Ple-please help me. I-I don't wanna die.
- Superman: Jordan, Jordan, hold on.
- Zeta-Ro: [taking control] I sacrifice my only son to save our people and you don't even have the strength to strike yours.
- Superman: Hey, are you okay? Are you hurt?
- Jordan Kent: No, no, no, no, no. I-I-I don't think so. What happened?
- Superman: You... you don't remember?
- Jordan Kent: I-I was in an accident with-with John and-and Sarah and Grandpa, and then Edge grabbed me, and the next thing I remember...
- [as his eyes glow red, he pushes Clark back with a superhuman shove]
- Zeta-Ro: I was eradicated.
- Zeta-Ro: There's that weakness, Kal-El.
- Superman: Zeta? You did this to my son?
- Zeta-Ro: He's the perfect vessel.
- Superman: He's a child!
- Zeta-Ro: Who possesses the untapped power of Kryptonian with the easily manipulated mind of a human. Now I will mold both into proper greatness.
- Superman: You're a monster.
- Zeta-Ro: What I am is committed.
- [punching him]
- Zeta-Ro: And no one, especially the son of Jor-El, will keep me from ensuring our people survive.
- General Sam Lane: We need to evacuate Smallville.
- Chrissy Beppo: Everyone?
- General Sam Lane: They need to get as far away from here as possible as quickly as possible. Twitter, mass e-mail, put out a special edition of the Gazette, whatever we need to do to get these people the hell out of Dodge.
- Chrissy Beppo: Sure.
- Kyle Cushing: Yeah, we'll-we'll spread the word whether they wanna hear it from us or not.
- Lana Lang Cushing: Yeah. Whatever we need to do.
- Sarah Cushing: Uh, General, have you heard any word on Jordan?
- General Sam Lane: Not yet. But we have the world's finest looking for him.
- Lana Lang Cushing: [Kyle frees Sam from his crashed SUV] We need to get them both to a hospital.
- General Sam Lane: We don't have time.
- Kyle Cushing: General, listen, you're hurt, you could have internal injuries.
- General Sam Lane: All I care about is finding that son of a bitch who took my grandson.
- Sarah Cushing: I heard what you said when Morgan Edge took you.
- Jordan Kent: Well, I meant it. It wasn't just one of those things that people say 'cause they think they're gonna die, Sarah. Since I first met you that summer, I felt that way.
- Sarah Cushing: I love you, too.
- Jonathan Kent: Jordan, you gotta wake up. Promise if you do, I'll never ever... do any of the stuff you hate.
- [as he turns around, Jordan's eyes open and he stands up]
- Jonathan Kent: [turning back around] Jordan? Mom did it!
- Zeta-Ro: [Jordan's eyes glow red] No. She didn't.
- Clark Kent: [seeing Lana and Emily Phan acting friendly] Well, I see you two made up.
- Lana Lang Cushing: Yeah. She came over and we talked, then we cried, then we finished an entire box of white wine.
- Clark Kent: [quasi-impressed] An entire box?
- Lana Lang Cushing: Yeah. We cried a lot.
- Clark Kent: I'm glad you decided to stay.
- Lana Lang Cushing: He gave Kyle back his job, so the choice was easy. And Smallville is home. It always will be. Hey, you know, I met my best friend here.
- Clark Kent: [feigning surprise] Oh, is that so?
- John Henry Irons: Just heard about your dad.
- Lois Lane: Yeah. Caught us all by surprise. What about you? Have you given any thought to what's next?
- John Henry Irons: A little. Uh, been thinking I should, uh, reach out to my sister. Maybe actually make contact this time.
- Lois Lane: You know, we got a lot of work to do on the farm.
- John Henry Irons: [laughing] Of course.
- Lois Lane: You and Clark could get it up and running while also doing, you know, the other thing.
- John Henry Irons: Nah, I don't know. I don't think that's a good idea.
- Lois Lane: Clark and I talked about it. He really trusts you.
- John Henry Irons: It's not about him. Every time I look at you, I see my wife, the only woman I've ever loved. You know, she's with someone else and they're happy.
- Lois Lane: John.
- John Henry Irons: No, no, I... I know you're not her, but it doesn't change how it feels.
- Lois Lane: I just want you to be happy.
- John Henry Irons: I know. Which is why I can't stay.
- Lois Lane: [giving him a hug] Thank you for everything.
- John Henry Irons: Mm-hmm. Just take good care of your boys; all three of 'em.
- Lois Lane: Well, since this is now a goodbye party, I think tequila is in order.
- Superman: I've seen more than my share of disasters. Big, small, natural, or otherwise, they can change a place forever. And it's not just the physical destruction. Sometimes it's the people who may never be the same. Oftentimes, a crisis has a way of revealing a person's true nature, for better or worse. Which brings me to Morgan Edge. Now, I know there will be a lot of questions about how a simple businessman could have orchestrated the strange events that happened here. And I want the world to know the truth. Morgan Edge is not from this planet. He, in fact, is from Krypton.
- Chrissy Beppo: Morgan Edge is Kryptonian?
- Superman: Yes. I only discovered this recently when he revealed he wanted to turn humans into our kind.
- Chrissy Beppo: You mean Smallvillians into Kryptonians.
- Superman: Yes, using a device from Krypton to supplant the human mind with a Kryptonian one and a mineral only found here that would grant the host powers. That's why he was here and why he purchased the mines.
- Chrissy Beppo: First take over Smallville, then the world?
- Superman: Something like that.
- Chrissy Beppo: And is it still possible for these Kryptonian minds to be implanted in humans?
- Superman: No, not anymore.
- Chrissy Beppo: Makes me wonder, are you at all worried that this would make people afraid of Kryptonians?
- Superman: You mean me? That's not something I will ever be able to control. But I know who I really am, just like I know who the people of Smallville really are.
- Chrissy Beppo: What do you mean by that?
- Superman: This small town was hurting. Its people were hurting. An event this big could have destroyed it, could've torn it apart, but it didn't. It brought it back together. I saw people find strength they didn't know they had, face their fears, become heroes. I'm not the one who saved Smallville. Its people did. And I know because of this experience, by going through this together, Smallville will be stronger than it has ever been before.
- John Henry Irons: [bringing Jordan to Lois] Hurry. He won't be out for long.
- Lois Lane: How's it going out there?
- John Henry Irons: A work in progress.
- Sarah Cushing: [Kyle goes to help a woman trapped in a burning building] Dad, where are you going?
- Lana Lang Cushing: To do his job.
- Tal-Rho: [in Kryptonian, eradicating all the X-Kryptonite in the mines] Krypton's resurrection has finally come.
- Lois Lane: You still haven't gotten looked at, have you?
- General Sam Lane: I will, I will.
- Lois Lane: You go take care of the world, I'll take care of my family.
- John Henry Irons: Now, I got a call from the DOD earlier. Gave me the hard sell, hoping I'd come on board. Any reason I didn't hear from you first?
- General Sam Lane: Yeah, there is.
- John Henry Irons: Mm?
- General Sam Lane: I'm stepping down from active duty. Put in my request yesterday.
- John Henry Irons: This have to do with your injury?
- General Sam Lane: Nah, more my priorities. I've been taking care of the world for a long time. Thought maybe it was time to start taking care of my family.
- John Henry Irons: You're gonna be hard to replace.
- General Sam Lane: They'll find somebody.
- John Henry Irons: [snickering] I'm sure.
- Chrissy Beppo: [taking a check from Lois] What's this?
- Lois Lane: A plea to not sell the Gazette.
- Chrissy Beppo: Lois, the lawyer is drawing up the paperwork tomorrow.
- Lois Lane: Which is why I wanna buy half of it from you today. Okay, we sold the brownstone in Metropolis, and with the money from that, I have just enough to match half of your other offer. Let's build something here. A paper owned and operated by us. Reporters who put the story first no matter the consequences. What do you think? You want to be partners with me?
- [stunned, Chrissy doesn't know what to say]
- Lois Lane: Chrissy?
- Chrissy Beppo: Ye-ye... yes! Of course, I'll be partners with you!
- [hugging]
- Chrissy Beppo: Are you freaking kidding me right now?
- Lois Lane: No.
- Chrissy Beppo: This is the happiest day of my life.
- [hugging again]
- Chrissy Beppo: What?
- A.I. Device: Detecting Kryptonian air mobiles.
- John Henry Irons: Where?
- Superman: [hearing them land] The mines.
- Zeta-Ro: What year is it on this Earth?
- Young Edge: By their measurements, 1987.
- Zeta-Ro: And the Eradicator, have you found it?
- [he suddenly turns to notice Lois]
- Zeta-Ro: You'll never get to him. He's been buried deep in his subconscious. Lost forever.
- Lois Lane: I'll find him.
- Zeta-Ro: You don't even know where to look. But I know where to find you.
- Zeta-Ro: [with the Kryptonian Defense Council] It is finally time. Let us see our home rise with the new day.
- A.I. Device: Is everything okay, John? Your mood appears rather pensive.
- John Henry Irons: I'm not pensive.
- A.I. Device: Your vitals seem to suggest otherwise.
- Lois Lane: [entering with Clark] You got everything packed up?
- John Henry Irons: Um, yeah. Well, unless you wanted an overly intrusive AI device.
- Lois Lane: I think we're good.
- Kyle Cushing: Hot plate coming through. I call 'em victory ribs.
- Lana Lang Cushing: Oh, victory ribs, huh?
- Kyle Cushing: Try 'em. You tell me that's an inaccurate statement.
- Lois Lane: [through a mouthful of food] Mmm! Mmm. I need this recipe.
- Kyle Cushing: [Lana laughs] What did I just say? Normally, that would not be an option, but, uh, for you, we're gonna make that happen, all right?
- Clark Kent: [burying Jor-El's memory crystal in the backyard] Growing up, I always felt... different; alone in some way. I had so many questions about who I was, why I was here. And all that changed when I met him. He taught me so many things about my homeworld, about my family, about myself. But the greatest thing he...
- [choking up]
- Clark Kent: The greatest thing he ever did for me... was just be my dad.
- Jordan Kent: I'm sorry I'm not strong, Mom.
- Lois Lane: Yes, you are.
- Jordan Kent: He said that I was pathetic. An embarrassment, the weakest of my kind.
- Lois Lane: That's 'cause he knows how strong you really are.
- Jordan Kent: I'm not strong, Mom.
- Lois Lane: Yes, you are.
- Jordan Kent: I'm not strong, Mom!
- Lois Lane: Yes, you are. What Zeta said is not true. You have no idea how strong you are. You're stronger than any of us. All your life, you have been strong. You are a fighter. I need you to fight now harder than you ever have. You find that strength that I know is there. You find that strength to come back to us. I know you can do it, baby. Find that strength and fight. Fight! Fight!
- John Henry Irons: So, the good news: red solar tech plus the hammer's kinetic force should pierce the Eradicator's energy field and dissipate his power reserves.
- Lois Lane: Meaning?
- John Henry Irons: This...
- [powering up the red solar beam]
- John Henry Irons: ...can stop him.
- Superman: Provided you throw it from a far enough distance.
- John Henry Irons: That's the bad news. The hammer needs to gain maximum force, which means a long throw. And Edge needs to be locked down dead center of the bullseye.
- Lois Lane: I'm guessing you only get one shot at this.
- Superman: I'll handle Edge.
- Jonathan Kent: Right, 'cause that's totally doable. I mean, he only has, like, six other badass Kryptonian dudes with him. Look, those are terrible odds. This is really the plan?
- Lois Lane: It's the only plan we've got.
- Jonathan Kent: Okay. I mean, what about us?
- Superman: You'll be guarding your mother while she finds her way into one of Jordan's memories.
- Jonathan Kent: [Lois opens a gun case] What the hell's that thing?
- Superman: It's a restored weapon of Thaddeus Killgrave's.
- Jonathan Kent: Who?
- Lois Lane: [giving him the weapon] All you need to know is you don't use this unless you *have* to.
- A.I. Device: An anomalous vessel has just linked to your war suit CPU, and is approaching at a dangerously high velocity.
- [as he whooshes away, Lois and Irons follow Clark outside and watch it crash-land]
- John Henry Irons: [seeing the occupant get out] It can't be.
- [overjoyed, he runs and hugs his daughter Natalie]
- John Henry Irons: Oh, god.
- Natalie Irons: [spotting Lois with Clark and the boys] Mom?
