An outstanding job by Cari Marvelli in all ways. Flawless acting, directing, camera work. A spot on pseudo-documentary teaser. Leaves you wanting more - MUCH more from the artist.
Man'aise is the tragic tale of a young woman who has been all but used up by life and those who might have protected her. The story is told in stunningly realistic terms, startling realities assault the viewer while the film and those in it are compelling and so watchable that one doesn't want to turn away. Not an exercise in gritty realism, but a beautiful cautionary mosaic of a woman caught up in a dysfunctional reality that seems to wring the life out of her in spite of her best efforts to rise above.
Marvelli is a marvel.
