A British (UK) version of the show began airing on the BBC on 29th November 2022, and the series has 12 episodes. All the contestants in the British series are ordinary people with jobs, not celebrities.
Several foreign broadcasters from USA and Belgium have shown interest in this game show format.
RTL4 had only broadcast two episodes of De Verraders and already ordered a second season of the game show. The media company was very satisfied with the viewing figures and therefore decided to order a new (second) series.
In some episodes, traitor Kees Boot had a plaster on his head. An explanation was not given in the show itself. During the recording he had hit his head against the wall of the doorway of the 14th century castle. The height of the doors were much lower at that time.
