"Reptile" has The Church at one of their most memorable songs of all time, specially with that unmistakable and unforgettable guitar riff that takes you over from the get-go.
Once you hear it you can't never forget it. Pity that the video is basically a group performance with a repetitive editing pattern and established shots, mostly focusing the lead singer appearing on close-up shots and mostly from the corner of the frame, and guitarist steals the show from him since he gets the most memorable notes to play. For some brief moments, a crowd appears watching them doing their act. Like many of their songs, the lyrics are genius, poetic and very appealing while making its comparison of people with reptiles.
It's a watchable video but it doesn't reach the same artistic quality of classic clips "Under the Milky Way" and "Metropolis", just to name a few, so my enthusiasm for it comes from hearing this unforgettable song. 8/10.
