Warning: Spoilers For Interstellar will be discussed. While he's an integral part to the second act of Interstellar's story, Matt Damon's Dr. Mann isn't seen for very long in the story at large. He's mentioned in the first act, and not even thought of after his fiery demise. But for a good part of the middle act he's a very important person that changes the flow of the story massively. If you were looking for a little bit more back story to Dr. Mann's slow, inevitable descent into madness, Christopher Nolan has written a comic that explains some of Dr. Mann's waking days before the big nap. Thanks to Nolan's guest editing privileges on this month's issue of Wired, he and Sean Gordon Murphy, an award winning comic book artist with a long resume of DC titles, teamed up to create "Absolute Zero," a prequel story of sorts...

Uh... Insterstellar spoilers are within, read on only if you've seen the film or if you don't care about spoilers. Wired has published a Christopher Nolan-penned prequel comic with artwork by Sean Murphy aided by colorist Matt Hollingsworth and letterer Tana Ford. The seven-page comic explores an unseen event that happened before the action we see take place in Interstellar, having to do with Dr. Mann (Matt Damon), one of the original scientists leading the Lazarus missions in an attempt to find a hospitable exoplanet. When we first meet Mann in the film, several years have passed and he seems to have cracked, this new comic, titled "Absolute Zero", gives us an idea of what life alone on the frozen planet was like and just how hopeless all seemed to be for Mann. You can read the pages of the comic below (click each image for a larger look...

First of all, if you haven't seen Interstellar yet, then don't read any further, as this post will contain several spoilers for Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film. One of the more surprising moments during this grand sci-fi journey is the revelation that Dr. Mann is still alive on the planet he was tasked with exploring as a potential new home. Equally surprising is that the character is played by Matt Damon and he appears to be the saving grace of the mission, at least until he's not. Now a prequel comic book tells the story of how Dr. Mann (and his robot Kipp) arrived on the icy, desolate planet in the film, and how he began to forge data to make it seem like his planet was hospitable, just so someone would come rescue him. Check it out! Here's just part of the prequel comic book Absolute Zero, but you...

Can't get enough of Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar"? Well an upcoming mini-comic penned by Nolan himself will serve as a prequel to one of the film's key characters.
Major Spoilers Ahead

Spoilers for Interstellar follow. Matt Damon's character is one of the more puzzling aspects of Interstellar. Why did he turn evil? What was his plan? And what did he do to Kipp? (R.I.P., Kipp.) Thankfully, we get a few hints in the form of a comic Christopher Nolan wrote for the issue of Wired he guest-edited. "Absolute Zero" (which can be read here) tells the story of the moment Damon's Dr. Mann decided to go over to the dark side once and for all. "If cold is only the absence of heat, if silence is just the absence of sound, if death is simply the absence of life," he asks himself, "then is good the absence of evil, or is evil the absence of good?" Heady stuff! You can explore these issues, and see what comic-book Matt Damon looks like, in next week's all-Nolan Wired.

"Monocyte #3" is due to hit shelves this month and readers will find that the Destroyer of Worlds will have to face a strange incarnation of “life” itself in the form of Augustus resurrected. This issue features the origins of this new character searching for his brother. The creature he meets can even put any Cenobite encounter to shame. Lapis is a shadowy entity that found him. This demonic like force resides "within the spokes of a wheel," and this frame of reference is no doubt very important in the world of Monocyte.
Readers will find a special kind of fearful symmetry within this story. The tale told here is more like a very finely tuned graphic novel than a simple comic book. Some readers treat these the two nouns synonymously and...

Chuck Lorre seems to have a thing with deus ex machina. He used it with "Two and a Half Men" earlier in the season. And as they say, "If it ain't broke, use the same embarrassing plot device again." Lorre did just that on Thursday's (Jan. 19) episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
[Spoiler Alert?]
It seems like just yesterday Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) first met on the nerd comedy. But in reality, it's been 99 episodes. So for the 100th, producers went back to revisit the on again/off again relationship between the two. Well, sort of.
Leonard insistently asks Penny out on a date. And, whether she knows what she's getting into or not, she agrees. This turns into a pleasant dinner periodically interrupted by Leonard saying ridiculous things like, "So what do you think? Are we going to get back together?" The evening quickly devolves into bickering and,...
