Better than the Boll Movies... and its fan made....
destroyerwod10 October 2010
OK i will give it to you that the special effects are so bad any geek with a computer could have done them with a program buy ed at wall mart... Comparing to some Star Wars fan movie, it seem just amateurish stuff... but thats as far as i can complain. Because lets face it, as much as we(and most of them all ME) LOVE Bloodrayne, it was never Star Wars... It was never "that" popular of a franchise and usually we could consider us lucky to have got 2 movies yet as i write this(and a third coming out) but the problem is... those movie where director by Toilet Boll in person...(see my Bloodrayne 2 review) and even with the cheesiest possible special effects, this movie was better than both movies reunited. It captured way more the character and atmosphere, and Vera Vanguard looked 10 times more Rayne than the 2 real actress combines(mostly because crappy director didn't even took the the time to have them been make up for the part as red hair and green eyes, in the right costume) So i would say 2 thumbs up for Miss Vanguard and her crew for making this, showing even amateur can be better than Boll....

Enjoyable short fan film tribute to the popular video game character
Woodyanders28 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Done on a low budget with obvious passion and enthusiasm, this neat little horror/action/comedy short relates the story of BloodRayne (a lively performance by ravishing Russian redhead Vera Vanguard, who also wrote the script), a feisty half-human, half-vampire warrior woman who vows to get revenge on her evil and powerful vampire father Kagan (Jack Vegas) for raping her human mother (Jasi Cotton Lanier) and killing her whole family. Competently directed by Edward G. Negron, this feature moves at a brisk pace, delivers a handy helping of graphic gore, and offers a cool and exciting set piece with BloodRayne singlehandedly butchering a bunch of no-count Nazi soldiers in a back alley (the movie takes place in Nazi Germany in 1935). This film earns extra points for its neat sense of black humor and a funny surprise last reel cameo by Captain America. Alas, the pounding techno soundtrack seems out of place with the period setting (although I dug the use of Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl" just the same) and the cut-rate CGI effects are pretty cheesy. Still, Vanguard looks positively smashing in her hot leather outfit (she swings a mean sword, too) and the picture overall certainly has its cheerfully macabre heart in the right place. A rather flawed, but overall solid and entertaining romp.
