The show was reviewed the following day in the Dundee Courier (15th May 1986): "All of Terry's guests on Wogan (B.B.C. 1) were polished and verbose. Barbara Taylor Bradford used ceaseless chatter to cover her nervousness while Auberon Waugh used it to argue his case for less sport and pop on TV. Meanwhile, Millicent Martin, who found fame on That Was The Week That Was, and Taxi's Marilu Henner disproved the theory that comedians are basically shy and retiring. So it was highly appropriate that the musical set for the evening was performed by Talk Talk."
Talk Talk were a group that appealed more to album buyers in the UK than the singles market. They had a Top 10 album during March 1986 with "The Colour of Spring" which spent 21 weeks on the chart, but the single performed on this edition, "Give It Up", only made 59th place on the charts, dropping out after 3 weeks.
