Almost every character in this show is a carbon copy of another in El Chavo Animado. Almost unashamedly so. Let's go through them:
Mary Gibbons = Dona Florinda (the pushy loudmouth) Penny = Don Ramon (the stereotypical grumpy mad child) Anton St. Germain = Senor Barringa (the uptight/serious businessman ... OK, rich guy in this case) Gwen = Popis (the slutty know it all) Portia = Quico (the clueless momma child) Bessie = El Chavo (the completely clueless protagonist)
I know the show seems based on My Gym Partner's a Monkey (which has similar animation), but the similarities between this show and El Chavo Animado is mind-blowing. There is no way on Earth anyone will be able to convince me that this was a coincidence. The style of the character interactions, the mentally deficient kids and adults, the PG-13 innuendo...it's EL CHAVO ANIMADO for crying' out loud!!
