So the story goes: in the middle of NASA's final simulation tests in the Arizona desert, the Apollo 11 crew were approached by a mysterious Navajo elder who convinced them to deliver a message to the souls of his ancient ancestors whom, he claimed, resided on the moon. Upon leaving the desert, Armstrong sought the services of a Navajo merchant who, while trying to keep a straight face, revealed its true meaning: "Do not trust a word these guys say, they come to take your land."
