Bernie gives a cab ride to Charles "Chuck" St. Dennis, who he learns is a friend of the Fitzgeralds. Amy blurts out, however, that he is a man Bridget used to be engaged to. Bernie is upset to further learn that the engagement was just seven months ago and one month before he and Bridget married. Bridget is upset to learn from Sophie that Bernie had a serious relationship to a woman named Rita Lazareth at the time they met. They each receive advice from those in their lives.
