A Special Tribute to cinematographer Rajen Kothari has been organized by the students and faculty of Whistling Woods International on 16th October at 4:30 pm in their Goregaon campus.
The programme will include screening of films like Damul, Tukaram, Das Capital and Purush.
Filmmakers like Subhash Ghai, Shyam Benegal and Prakash Jha would be present at the occasion.
Films will be screened from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, while an interactive session ‘Rajenji’s Memorial’ will be held from 2:30 pm onwards.
Kothari, a renowned cinematographer and a faculty member at Whistling Woods passed away on 26th September, 2012.
He had worked as a cinematographer for 26 films, including Well Done Abba, Zubeida, Blue Oranges, Welcome to Sajjanpur, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero.

Veteran cinematographer Rajen Kothari died of a cardiac arrest yesterday. Reportedly, the 60 year old cinematographer was rushed to a hospital after he suffered an attack at the Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International film school. He was the head of the cinematography department of the film school. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
He won the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer in 1991 for Ghayal. He has worked as a cinematographer for 26 films, including Well Done Abba, Zubeida, Blue Oranges, Welcome to Sajjanpur, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero...

Pooja Kanwal who has debuted on television with the show Palampur Express is very busy these days. The actress is shuffling between her serial and movie. Currently she is in Himachal completing her last commitment for a Punjabi flick.
“She is out of two for two days busy shooting in Himachal for the song of her last flick. Now she has completed all her movies commitments and will be focusing on television,” says Pooja’s mom.
Pooja has worked in different language films. “She has done South Indian, Punjabi, Pakistani and Hindi movies too. Her Hindi film Blue Oranges is all set.
