In 2023 finding a good television show is like digging up gold in your garden. It's almost impossible.
This friday The Continental concluded in a lackluster, overlong and boring finale and we got the next disappointment. But fortunately Amazon has another show to serve us for dinner and thank God it is delicious!
The first episode introduces us to the main characters and they are all interesting and three-dimensional. They have background stories and understandable goals and motives.
This is refreshing if you are coming from garbage meals like Ahsoka.
They also managed to keep the soul of the franchise by using the same degree of violence. The sex scene was great and tops the ones from The Boys season 3.
I also want to adress the inportant topic of wokeness in this show, so you do not hurt your stomach by devouring this show:
There is some implemented, that is non discussable and it bothers me, but it is not on the same level as in Disney's productions so it is a side effect. There is also a bit satirisation of the topic, but it is too early to judge on this case.
To sum it up, they took all the core ingredients that made The Boys a 5-star michelin meal and gave it a new touch. The result is a fresh, delicious meal that will hopefully take us through the fall.
