Although it is not a consummately skilled documentary, it is wonderful. It is full of the information which the doctor (my favorite person in the film) says is needed if we are not to treat what we don't understand with "superficials." But full of information as it is (very clinical at some points) it is never without emotion. And at the end it is a testament to those who have the courage to risk being who they are. I had some problem keeping track of who each person was in relation to Raul. And there is a lot of subtitling to read which is understandable and predictable since it is a story related by people who knew Raul. But most of the details of what relation this or that person had to Raul are not as important as the primary message of the film. The doctor says The mind always wins out over the body. Who we are is who we think we are.
