What's there to cheer about?
vbacon-111-57832916 January 2021
I'm a huge fan of LMN movies but this is not at all one of their better ones.

The plot is very slow moving and really goes nowhere through the whole film. Sometimes LMN movies will give you some interesting twists and turns, but not here.

The acting here was very amateurish. Even General Hospital / LMN regular Andrea Bogart can't make it work. The only bright spot was Jacqueline Scislowski who should have a future in other LMN movies and maybe a little beyond that. She'll do well if they can get her a decent script and competent cast.

I have to agree with the other reviewer who noted that the moves the cheerleaders were doing were incredibly amateurish compared to real competitive cheerleading (which is a thing).

The ending made the movie
mja5819 March 2021
This was the usual LMN movie with bratty girls and their mothers, bratty girls finking on the newly arrived innocent, and causing trouble for the newly arrived innocent.

I thought the ending was pretty good, especially when the girl speaks up to the crowd. Satisfying finish.

Title is misleading
sweetseve-3606625 October 2021
I expected a bit more violence with a name like Cheer Camp Killer. For a lower budget film, it wasn't bad but this wasn't a thriller. It's a mean girls drama. There's nothing remotely thriller or violent about the whole film. I thought the acting was good for the genre (which is not thriller). It just wasn't what I was expecting. There's not so much as a nose bleed in the entire film.

Terrible in every way
deedrala24 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Very misleading title with the word "killer" in it - no one gets killed in the entire movie. Lifetime shouldn't get away with their manipulative lies and deceit any longer, just to attract as many viewers as possible. They shamelessly lie about older movies being "premieres" and shamelessly change the titles of many of their movies to mislead people into thinking they're new movies they haven't seen yet, and it's all beyond shameful. There should be some kind of broadcasting or FCC watchdog that doesnt let them continue to get away with all the dishonesty.

This movie was terrible, with atrocious acting and dialogue, and cheesy production values.

And why LMN has put the 'actor' who played Jack in any of their movies is beyond my comprehension. He's not attractive, sexy, warm, or charismatic in the least, and so wooden and blah in his attempts at acting.

You'll be mad at yourself if you waste ANY time on this amateur joke of a "movie".

This movie was made for 3 dollars
brandonsmuxx12 October 2020
Low budget and terrible acting, even by Lifetime standards. First of all, "camp"? This is set on a school campus. Not even a big campus. A football field, an outside eating area, and 1 floor of a building. I dont ever expect a masterpiece from Lifetime, but they're usually fun, well acted, and interesting enough. This was just bizarre on all levels.

Cringy Cheer Routines
lwiens-6227215 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was what you expect I guess for a Lifetime movie however it is clear that not a single actor has ever cheered before. Though you can see what they are going for with the routines, it falls very short and they are extremely yawn worthy. I am not sure why they are all congratulating each other on their routines or why the main character is even jealous in the first place other than her routine is just as uneventful. Not one routine was exciting nor did the final routine give you that revenge, come back feeling that the movie was going for and it definitely was not scholarship material. I wouldn't say don't watch it however I would not refer it to anyone either.

Who picks the titles for LMN movies?! No one dies in this movie, so why the word killer for pete's sake? I like Andrea Bogart but didn't like her role. Also it was nice to see Philip McElroy play a nice guy! He creeped me out in the Wron Teacher! 😂

Sophia WOW!!!

November 05th of 2023rd

Genre:

Sports, teen drama, family drama

Duration:

1H:23M

What was Cheer Camp Killer about?:

It was about a group of Cheerers wanting a title shot at a scholarship.

There they meet a Female Loki who tries to sabotage her way to the top.

The story and the production overview:

Sophia was Fine...

Don't see these type of females in hollywood budget films.

Anyways... the story was interesting. My only compliant is how the dialogue is so cliche and cr*nge. This was filmed in 2020 and they are still using redundant dialogues.

The mom was probably the worse. Iunno how her daughter didn't laugh when she was talking to her. I would have.

Highlight:

Sophie... mainly at the end she showed off her curves. She was fine...

Moral:

Not much any of the victims could do. I think it's the perps parent's duty to guide her daughter in a better direction, even when they are filled with baggage.

Rating:

I like it.

Final Words:

Would only watch it again for Sophia.

Pretty Good
gabrielcharpentierhimself13 October 2020
I remember on October 10, 2020 (the release date), Me and my Mom were watching Lifetime. I saw this and said "I would like to see this". Since we have Xfinity TV, She could record it and watch it any time. So I watched it today and it was not expecting it to be a drama. I was expecting a slasher film about cheerleaders being murdered one by one. But, I give it a 7 because, It is still a good film. I was happy to see one of my favorite actresses had a role in the film, Jacqueline Scislowski.

Oh!

Warning: Spoilers
I like films about cheerleaders but this one was dire. I fell asleep during it and had to watch the rest another night. The title of this doesn't make sense at all. No one dies in it so who is the killer? I'm wondering this. The story might've been better if it had been animated and not using cheesy actors. The villains are quite pathetic really.

Meh!
Chartreuse112 October 2020
This was an amateurish movie centering on a black high school cheerleader. Sophia, who becomes the envy of a mother with a daughter who is pushed to eliminate her cheerleader competition at any cost. Sophia is next on her list. What happens? I don't think anyone really cares except another high schooler. Skip it!

Boring film (not worth it)
nightleyharven17 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The plot was garbage and the whole time I was wondering when the title was going to come into play. Let me just say that not until HALF an hour was there any resemblance of cheer and even then it was mediocre. The characters were so bland and the only time I was excited is when Sophia was being tied up and left in the forest. No one died and I was upset because I wanted there to be some horror aspect based on the title THEY chose. I have blue balls now.. smh

Cheer camp KILLER??
cervoneangelina21 March 2022
It wasn't a bad movie, but the movie is called "cheer camp killer" and literally nobody was killed during the movie. So I'm unsure of why that's the title.

Not for me but my wife liked it
pmtelefon11 October 2020
Mariah Robinson is an appealing actress and the rest of the cast is fine but they're not enough to save "Cheer Camp Killer". The material is just not there. The movie is actually pretty dull. The story doesn't really go anywhere. Unfortunately, I found "Cheer Camp Killer" pretty forgettable. Honorable mention: a dreamy Andrea Bogart.

The black girl acting is good, rest of them especially the evil cheerleader needs to go for acting classes. Okay kind of movie you watch when you are bored.

Really?
daviuquintultimate23 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No limits for the evil cheerleader Victoria Richards and her evil mom Beth, the villains, in trying to get rid of all competitors in the Cheer Camp contest - whose winner will gain a college scolarship - and particularly in the most powerful of them, Sophia: from lying to cheating, to attempted murder.

Victoria seduces Greg, the medical student who works as a camp trainer in Cheer Camp. Following Victoria's instructions, he dopes one of the contendants, that in that way gets disqualified, and in the end he is expelled on a false charge of sexual assault, made up by Victoria & mom. We don't see him anymore in the film.

The day before the final showcase Victoria hits Sophia with a stone, kidnaps her, and ties her to a tree on the edge of a ditch overhanging some rocky cliffs. Sophia hovers there all night, and in the morning, when she is found - evidently not in good shape -, her first thought is to take part in the final performance. She wins the scholarship, and in her speech of acceptance she accuses Victoria. The evil cheerleader tries to mess things up, again, but there come the police - which has camera footage of the kidnapping - and arrests Victoria.

Highly recommended for those interested in how film plots should not be made, and with sufficient humour to endure the whole duration of this...thing.

By the by: nobody really eats in this movie: all they do is pecking their food up and down with their forks... repeatedly.

Terrible Name for a Mediocre Film
lollipopcosplayz10 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert- nobody dies in this movie. I have no idea who picks the movie titles for this. I was expecting a slasher style film at a cheer camp and maybe some final girl action at the end. Nope. Not even close. It's just a mean girl cheer movie with a cliche sort of story. The worst thing that happens is the main character being strung up at a tree near a drop off. But even that is at the end of the film. I sat through this whole movie waiting for there to be blood but it never came. At the end, I was just dumbfounded- did I just watch a cheer movie all the way through? I don't even think it was good as a cheer movie. Not worth your time.
