Adam is in Larksoken, Norfolk dealing to with his late Aunt's estate, there he learns of Serial killer on the loose called The Whistler, and rumblings at The local Power Station.
It's definitely an engaging storyline, even if this first part does take a very long time to open up. It's very close to the novel thus far, even down to the windmill. Nicely acted, I thought Gemma Jones was particularly good in these early stages.
We are thirty years on, and still having the same debate about nuclear power, and whether or not it's safe or not, I'm sure it's a debate that will still be being considered in 2051.
I don't recall Dalgliesh having to deal with a serial killer tagged in a similar way to The Whistler, so it's an intriguing start. 8/10.
