Based on the original screenplay for The Red Trees (2016), which was initially cut shorter to work in the format of a short film. The feature length version of the project was stuck in development for 5 years before finally moving forward with official preproduction starting during Summer 2020. The script was re-worked after Pauli Janhunen Calderón pitched the story to Kevin Jimenez Bernal.
Dennis Konway initially shot two cameo appearances as a Mysterious Hitman working with Luís Zacarius. This version of the cameo was ultimately cut in the final version of the film. During finalized pick-ups in May 2023, Konway's character was filmed for a new establishment scene of the criminal underworld.
The main part of production lasted from late August to early November 2020. Editing didn't start until January 2021 so that Pauli Janhunen Calderón could complete the final cut of The Most Important Film Ever Made: The Making of A One Crow World (2020). Pick-ups were shot sporadically during the later half of 2021 as well as during Summer 2022 and once again in late Spring 2023.
Pauli Janhunen Calderón and Adam Leijon share cinematography credit. Leijon joined during the mid-point of principal photography and therefore acted as the cinematographer for half of the film.
The majority of the film's dialogue had to be re-recorded during post-production due to poor on-location sound. The main cast worked on dubbing their lines over the course of several months because of the complex nature of the lengthy conversation sequences.
