Lisa geeks out on another brain exercise

Couch gag rating: 8/10 The Simpsons family find their seats just as Mount Vesuvius erupts.

The episode: Bart and Lisa have their lemonade stand broken up because they don't have a vendor's license. The line to get the license is held up by the man there doing a crossword puzzle. A frustrated Lisa quickly zooms through the crossword puzzle for him and discovers her love for them.

Favorite moment(s): The tribute to words removed from the dictionary.

This episode should be familiar to all of us. Homer does something which disappoints Lisa and he has to win her respect back. I wish that would been explored longer. I thought the use of Marge's maiden name was pure genius and hadn't been done prior. I only wish this had been the main plot of the episode. Nonetheless, the tender moment at the end is touching.

Overall rating: 7/10 Nothing disappoints in this episode but there aren't many jokes and so many episodes have been made similar to the main plot and done better.

Guest starring Merl Reagle and Will Shortz

Warning: Spoilers
Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words is a feel-good episode that gets into the world of crosswords. I'm not cryptic crossword person but it appears Lisa has the knack for that. This is a special Homer-Lisa episode that brings the two together even after Homer bets on the other guy to win the crossword.

Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words falls outside the golden era of The Simpsons, i.e. The first 10 years, but it's worth watching at least once. So many episodes to watch for sure, and Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words is one worth watching for sure even though it falls outside the golden era.

Father and Daughter Bond

I remember when season 20 came out and I got it on dvd. I remember when I was younger I wanted to collect all the dvd's from The Simpsons as I really liked what they did with it and what characters would be on the front. I was also very disappointed when they decided to stop releasing dvd's as people wouldn't buy them anymore. Anno 2023 we have so many streaming platforms that people simply don't watch dvd's anymore, but I do miss the nostalgia, and going to the video rental store to pick up the newest released movies.

I have always been a big Bart fan but I feel like the older I get, the more I like Lisa. Lisa is the smart kid who is often misunderstood, meanwhile Bart just gets into trouble for doing his pranks time after time.

This was a beautiful episode of the bond between father and daughter. A really good episode!

Quite weird and emotional!

Warning: Spoilers
I like watching Homer bet on the Cross Word competitions and Winning!

The part when Lisa is mad at Homer and Homer sneaks in an apology into a cross word puzzle he had help making is so sweet!

This is mildly entertaining and kind of emotional.

Not funny at all though.

A Really Good Episode, But Lisa was Acting a Bit Bratty
e_daneva29 December 2023
Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words is an amazing episode. I have watched 8 other Season 20 episodes and there was 1 bad, 3 okay, 3 good, and 2 really good. This episode is one of the really good episodes. This episode is really interesting, even if it doesn't have a lot of humor. But then again, this season doesn't have that much humor. This episode converted to one plot to another with Homer, but both of the plots were really good though. This was also a very heartfelt episode too. But one thing I noticed is Lisa was being a bit bratty. She just had too much confidence and was trying to prove that she was smart even thought everyone already knew that. She just felt very boastful and braggy. I feel like this flanderatizion in her character started in the Season 19 finale, The Lisa Show. No one noticed it in this episode, but soon after this episode people will notice her flanderatizion as much as Flanders', Bart's, and Homer's. In all, I give this a 7.9 out of 10. Not the best in the season so far but a great watch.

Warning: Spoilers
Not bad, plenty of laughs. "I'm not mad." Gil Gunderson's one of those characters who appears in a different place or similar but different role each time, there's quite a few of these characters.
