Mumbai, July 8: Independent filmmaker Madhureeta Anand, who made "Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye" and documentary "Wheel of Time", says importance of stars is reducing and focus is shifting to producers and directors and this is the reason why so many newcomers are getting a chance in the industry.
"It's not just today, the star system has always been extremely important. It is one of the key elements to define a film industry. I actually feel that today the star is way less important than he or she was before," Anand told Ians.
"What we are seeing today is the rise of the producer and director. This is the reason that we have.

All films with actors playing multiple roles have crashed in the past. Even though most films will their lead actor in multiple roles (for the same film) have been damp squibs at the Bo, Priyanka Chopra is quite upbeat about her dozen roles in What's Your Raashee? At the peak of his career, Sanjeev Kumar did nine roles in Naya Din Nayee Raat. Shekhar Suman played nine different characters in David Dhawan's Chor Machaye Shor. Kamal Haasan was seen playing 10 avatars in Dasavatharam. Sonu Sood was in 11 different garbs in Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and recently Randeep Hooda attempted 18 roles in Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye. All films did badly at the box office.Stars attempt to do multiple roles in films to showcase their versatility and talent and Priyanka is attempting to enter the Guinness Book of World Records with her 12 roles in What's Your Raashee? But the big question is: will it work?...

For Randeep Hooda, Love Khichdi could well be a career shaping film. After making a niche for himself in films like D-company and Risk, he did experiment with different roles in Ru BA Ru and Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye. In Love Khichdi though, he goes all out in creating an altogether different space for himself by appearing in a comic outing where he gets as many as 7 leading ladies opposite him. No wonder, he is enjoying the best of all worlds. ''Add to that the very fact that...

However, most of them have been delayed films that have only released in the recent past; hence giving an impression that Arbaaz is on a signing spree. Moon Moon Sen’s daughters Riya and Raima Sen have carried the beauty legacy ahead in Bollywood started by their beautiful grandmom Suchitra Sen but success has however constantly eluded them. Especially Raima who despite some really good performances in films such as Godmother and Manorama Six Feet Under and the very recent Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye have got applause from the critics but no box office success. We asked the demure and petite actress about her lack of recognition, her relationship status and what’s on the cards for her career wise.

Arbaaz Khan might not be as great a star as his brother Salman but he has been quietly doing his kind of work. He was last praised for ‘Fashion’ where he starred alongside Priyanka Chopra. The fact that the recently released ‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ with Raima Sen and Randeep Hooda didn’t do well doesn’t worry him much.
Now he is looking forward to his newest movie, ‘The Stoneman Murders’ which he said tempted him a lot. He’s mighty impressed by the movie written and directed by Manish Gupta and produced by Bobby Bedi.

Raima Sen tells Jyothi Venkatesh that she dreams of a Man with a sense of humor like her father, who will stride up to her on a white horse.
Raima Sen is happy that at last she has been able to come up with a film in which she is the solo heroine. “I am glad I got an opportunity to act in Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye because it is for the first time that I have played the solo leading lady in a film. I was the only leading lady of C Kkompany but then frankly speaking I do not think I had anything tangible to do as an actress in that film”

Randeep Hooda's Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye released over the weekend gone by and turned out to be quite inconsequential as far as box office reception was concerned. There wasn't any buzz or hype to begin with and as the reviews started pouring in along with negligible number of patrons visiting the theaters, there was doomsday round the corner. The film has fared poorly at the box office, hence turning out to be another blow to Randeep Hooda after Ru BA Ru....

‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ got released last Friday. Though the promotion of the film has been low key, one can’t miss the excitement in the voice of Randeep Hooda for whom this is a big release. And why not? After all he plays as many as 18 characters in the film (yes, you read it right). While the makers are looking at the audience exploring the film by themselves, Randeep has all the right reasons to be hopeful about Mkmja that also stars Raima Sen and Arbaaz Khan since it is being presented by the same guys (PVR) who came up with ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Jaane.

In Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye Randeep Hooda plays Amitabh Bachchan. It’s part of a fantasy-plan that the script affords him.
Ironically , Randeep was supposed to play Gabbar Singh in Ram Gopal Varma’s Aag. A role that the Big B finally did.
And the rest is anything but history.
“No regrets about losing out on Gabbar Singh’s role,”says Randeep.
Randeep Hooda is one helluva stubborn actor. He said no to the role that Arjun Rampal eventually played in Rock On. Many think it’s the best part in the film. But then Randeep also said no to what.

Randeep Hooda who gave a stupendous performance in his debut movie, Rang Rasiya and now his latest flick, ‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ is all set to release this Friday, dated 6th February, 2009.
During some of the promotions for the film, we caught Randeep wearing red shoes. Later we again saw him sporting the same red shoes in many events. Be it black or blue shirt or jeans he is wearing, he mostly wears his red shoes in all the events.
Looks like red has been the favorite color of Randeep off recently (but only for footwear). Randeep is also working in a number of films.
