Boutella and veteran Jurgen Prochnow (The Da Vinci Code) are joining Deadpool villain Ed Skrein and Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man) in the story of a squad of soldiers stranded on an abandoned military base in a post-apocalyptic Earth who are waiting for the relief or the enemy…whichever comes first.

Part Gamer, part Stephen King, I've actually had my eye on Chris Hartwill's Ghost Machine for well over a year now, secretly hoping that its promise of ghostly goings on in a virtual reality game environment would offer something unique to the horror genre. Sort of like Harsh Realm but with teens if you will.
Then, last week, it was reported that the film would be dropped direct to DVD on December 22 and my hopes drooped a little bit. Now that the trailer's arrived it's hard to be too enthused, but this still looks like something I would definitely watch.
Synopsis:
Thrill-seeking military technicians and computer-game enthusiasts Tom (Faris) and Vic (Ford) recklessly smuggle a top-secret, virtual warfare training programme out of their base and into a spooky disused jail, while a vengeful spirit infiltrates the software and draws them into an all-too-real game of life and death.

We were lucky enough to see Descent Part 2 at the World Premiere during Frightfest a month or so ago. It’s not out until 4th December so we’ve still got an age before we can post our review but keep your eyes peeled.
The Descent Part 2 stars Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Krysten Cummings, Anna Skellern, Gavan O’Herlihy (Seven Days of Grace), Joshua Dallas (Ghost Machine, “Doctor Who”) and Douglas Hodge (Mansfield Park).
In the meantime, we have this new Japanese poster (click it to enlarge) which basically sums up the film in one image. It has a lady looking scared, a monster’s face and she’s in a pothole. What else could you want?!
If you want to read our report from the premiere you can check it out here and you can check out the trailer here.

Here at FilmShaft we love our trailers, hell we even have an entire section dedicated to them – little slices of cinematic thrills that should (hopefully) allude to the greatness of the whole. So naturally when we were sent the trailer for The Descent: Part 2 how could we resist?
The original you’ll remember, had people going crazy. An original plot in the horror genre is not something we see very often (more on that in a later article) so when audiences were plunged into the damp, claustrophobic caves of 2005’s The Descent, their fear was almost tangible.
Now with filmmakers are set to drag us back into the subterranean horror with The Descent: Part 2 the question is – are there any more surprises left?

Warner Bros. Pictures UK just sent over the latest trailer for Path Productions' sequel to Neil Marshall's 2005 film, The Descent (which we last reported on here).
Shauna Macdonald (Mutant Chronicles) returns as Sarah, continuing the story of the original film, in which a group of young women disappear during a caving trip in the Appalachian Mountains.
Check out the trailer below!
Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Sceptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines (Gavan O'Herlihy) doesn't waste time. Along with his partner Rios (Krysten Cummings), and their cave rescue team Dan (Douglas Hodge), Greg (Joshua Dallas), and Cath (Anna Skellern), Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.
Alongside Macdonald, The Descent Part 2 also features Natalie Mendoza...
