It is good to start of with. I was not so keen on the middle part of the story. But at least it is not very predictable, some parts it is. But the ending is thrilling and also near the ending of the opener is thrilling. but it does miss the mark on most of the SJA episodes. But still is a good one nevertheless. And I still enjoy this one to. It has great CGI and lots to be entertained well enough and nothing can change it from being a very good starter and very good near the end so I have to say for that 7/10. It is no higher or lower then that for me. And a great plot to. And a very fine piece of work. a very characteristic story for Sarah in some parts, and nice and slow and not to rushed either. It has lots of good ideas just a little bit ruined in key areas. But I still like this episode enough to watch it again. And the second siries is very strong and entertaining. Better then the first season and third and fifth, I don't know about siries four because I thought most of them were really fun to watch.

The Trueman show.
Sleepin_Dragon5 August 2022
Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde and Rani attend a show hosted by psychic Martin Trueman, a psychic who went from conman, to a powerful fortune teller after a unique visitation.

I wasn't aware of this having been linked to The Masque of Mandragora in any way, but there really are similarities between that and this. I really enjoyed it, it may be a little softer than the last story, but it's still very good.

If you're of a certain age, you'll have grown up watching The Russ Abbott show, and possibly being a big fan of his, I still am, and was delighted to see him here, clearly had some fun.

It's quite a deep story. Plenty of points to ponder.

Sarah Jane is made to think of her past and her future, she's criticised perhaps quite rightly for replying on the below of children.

Enjoyed very much, 8/10.

The Star twinkles but does not fully shine.

Review of both parts:

This is what I would expect from a teen/children's TV spinoff. It is adequate but lightweight with some overstated exposition and not entirely convincing plot. Sarah Jane Adventures often rises above this expectation and manages to be clever, challenging, scary and thoughtful. This one is more run of the mill teen drama material but it is still blessed with the talents of the wonderful Lis Sladen and her teen companions as well as a fun guest role for comedian Russ Abbott.

The plot involves astrology which is hard to meld with convincing science fiction but it is enjoyable.

This is an entertaining but unexceptional filler.

My ratings: Parts 1 & 2 - 6.5/10.

Secrets of the Stars...

Warning: Spoilers
Astrologer Martin Trueman causes a stir with his uncanny insights and predictions. Sarah doesn't believe in astrology, but she does believe that all is not as it seems with Trueman. Around her, people are falling under Trueman's sinister spell, and even Mr Smith doesn't understand what's going on.

Review of both parts -

I never knew about nor was ever interested in the Zodiac calendar and the mystical connections to it. This episode has taught me well about it, perhaps.

The plot was great, I loved the scene where the the man in the white business-suit was like... hell... divining her life story. It would've been better if they added flashbacks from the Third Doctor and the Fourth Doctor, it would of gave the older audience chills. I really wished that could've happen but nope! *sigh*

Was surprised when I was reading through the trivia of this episode is that this story was gonna be a sequel to The Masque of Mandgora, that would've been so f****** awesome and see them green red-eyed robots? I think I'm thinking about another episode... Oh, I remember, it was that priest guy, lmao. Yeah yeah, it would've been interesting but too bad when the script had problems, it arose this story got rethought.
