Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • When doctor young is killed in an explosion, if you look at her body it is has some blood and burns with a bit of blood surrounding her. A little Blood is also seen on the walls.
  • When The Joker is defeated at the end of the game he has some cuts on his face, and some missing teeth, from being beaten by Batman.
  • In a cutscene, you see men get transformed into monsters from the drug Titan. The transformation is gruesome with the men mutating inhumanly large muscles, bones growing out of there skin (a bit like the scene with Abomination in The Incredible Hulk), and growing fangs. No blood is seen, however.
  • Scarecrow is grabbed by Killer Croc and dragged off underwater. No violence shown.
  • In the cutscene prior to the climatic boss battle, Commissioner Gordon is revealed to be strapped to a chair that is elevated and overlooking the fight. He is electrocuted to demonstrate what will happen if Batman fails to defeat the Joker, but it isn't particularly upsetting. Just a quick groan from Gordon.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Scarecrows character uses drugs to take down people and drugs Batman in the game with his fear drug.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Dr. Young is killed by an explosion.
  • There are three sequences in the game where you encounter Scarecrow, and is put into a 'nightmare' based on different fears. The first two are Bruce's fears about his parents death and the 3rd is the players fear, as the game presumably 'fails' on the player. These sequences are quite frightening because his alias says he's obsessed with triggering fear in others, and when you confront him he uses his gas on you and your schizophrenic visions can be frightening.
