This episode tells the story of the life of the patriot José Miguel Carrera, of whom Neruda said "he was the first one to bring Freedom to our land, without kings or tyrants". With his charisma and his determination he hurried the changes and converted Chile into an independent nation, but he also gained very powerful enemies who would persecute him until the end of his days. Carrera is a man who at the age of 25, in 1812, he was already head of the government and army chief. This is the man who, ruined and prosecuted, crossed the sea in order to have and interview with the USA president and managed to get a fleet to get back to the fight. Carrera was a husband and a father who suffered due to the situation his family was undergoing. He was also the montonero's boss, the Argentinean provinces nightmare, who went towards the mountains in order to take revenge for his brothers' murder and to restore his good name. The prince of the Road approaches the life of one of the most controversial characters in Chilean history; an extraordinary man who devoted his life to the fight for freedom.
