Robert Hoffman has joined the cast of the indie '80s comedy "We Got the Beat."
The film, penned by Jon Artigo, revolves around Brad, a high school football player who sets out to prove he's more than just a jock by quitting the team and turning his heavy metal band into a pioneering boy band.
Hoffman will play Garth, the boy-toy and live-in lover of Brad's mother.
Filming begins this month in Massachusetts, with Artigo directing.
Hoffman's upcoming films include "They Came From Upstairs" for Fox and the indie comedies "The Last Stan" and "Kids in America." His credits include Disney's "Step Up 2 the Streets."
Hoffman is repped by CAA and Handprint Entertainment.
