Tus Ojos Cuando Llueven (Your Eyes When They Rain) deals with the problems of Lula, an attractive 20 year old brunette living in San Rafael, Mendoza province. Her father has died, her mother has reappeared after 18 years with a sister she didn't know she had, and she feels betrayed by her friends and her boyfriend.
Nothing much happens on screen. Most of the movie consists of conversations (some face- to-face, most by phone) between Lula and the other characters. These conversations are true to life and witty. The movie feels at times somewhat rambling and unfocused, just like real life conversations, and one feels that it could benefit from some editing here and there.
Lourdes Ruiz, playing Lula, is in almost every scene; she has the charisma and screen presence to carry the weight. The rest of the cast is at the same level. The script reflects the way Argentine Spanish is spoken in San Rafael. Most of the actors are San Rafael natives and talk with the local accent, a sort of almost imperceptible singsong.
The movie is available in You Tube (without subtitles).
