"Juke Box Jury" debuted on Station KNXT Channel 2, Los Angeles (now KCBS-TV) starting in 1948 and was nominated for an Emmy in 1950. Disc Jockey Peter Potter was the creator and host of the musical/quiz series. "Juke Box Jury" was moved from Channel 2, Los Angeles and was broadcast nationally during the 1953-1954 season on ABC (see separate IMDB entry for the 1953 series). Many later well-known entertainers (such as Steve Allen) appeared on the program to judge the latest releases from the recording companies.
