break the cycle, don't watch this movie

Tabetha and her one fiend are the only two survivors of her friends (13 of which were are killed by a witch who was burnt at the sake centuries earlier). Said witch, Selena Sutton, is after a talisman that will allow her to get more power, and only Tabetha can stop her.

The needlessly complicated mish-mash of witches, a possessed cops that act like low-grade Robert Patrick from Terminator 2, zombies and whatever else the writers want to throw at the wall to see what sticks isn't worth the time it would take to watch. The acting ranges from merely inept (most of the cast) to cringe-worthy awful. It's horribly convoluted and to top it off deathly boring. Every once in a great while one can find a diamond in the rough if he/she watches enough low-budget horror films. This is most definitely not one of those times.

Eye Candy: two par of tits but i have no clue who they belong to

My Grade: D-

DVD Extras: 2 TV interviews (one with Director Manuel H. Da Silva & Producer Tony Porfilio, the other with actress Valerie Morrissey & producer Tony Pofilio); Desilva talking about special effects & cast and crew; and a trailer for this film

Another AWFUL non-union production.

Wow.

After watching "Silent Sam" (and nearly taking my own life after doing so), I clicked my way through some of the credits and found that some of the "talent" also took part in this. Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I had to check it out.

Uneccessary and absurd plot cross overs. Terrible camera work. Atrocious sound. Acting SO bad it goes way beyond feeling sorry for the performers. Rather, you feel sorry for yourself for having watched it - the unintentionally hilarious interrogation scene comes to mind - Lord, "bad" does not even begin to describe it.

I really don't know how this got made. Why would anyone spend a dime on such a story? Once said dime was spent, why would someone not take the time to hire people that could actually read lines from a page without causing the viewer to burst into laughter? I reckon somewhere down the line somebody involved with this "movie" will post a review saying something about "Hey, it was low-budget...they were trying to give new actors a chance...it was great for what it was". How about not making it at all? How about investing that money into film school or acting classes? Just because you want to make a movie DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD! Tongue-in-cheek-yes-we-know-this-is-absurd bad is one thing. (See: anything featuring Shaquille O'Neal.) This is something else.

Someone out there really, really needs to invent some sort of bad-taste/bad-acting detection program that will not allow such disastrous efforts to be burned to DVD and/or uploaded to the internet.

Recommended to anyone who loves self-loathing or to any young man or woman who wants to know exactly what NOT to do as far as acting, directing, editing, lighting and sound engineering go. Also recommended to friends and family of the production team and cast. Do the world a favour. Please, PLEASE tell them to stop making these films!

Cycle of Fear: There is no end I'm not much of a horror fan. But I decided to watch this film that premiered at the Bloor Cinema, thinking that it was going to be blood & guts and bad acting.

I was surprised to see that it had a great story, good music and a little bit of everything! It was one of those movies that focuses on pure entertainment, The special effects were really good and the makeup was awesome! I actually left the theatre very happy that I had watched it! NICE TO SEE THAT THERE ARE still good films in the indy scene!

I have seen a lot of indy films and most of them were bad acting, it was nice to see a film that actually was a lot of fun to watch and focused on pure entertainment.

For an indepentant film, I thought it was well made, some good scares, and the music was just awesome and well done. There was also a lot of humour in the film. I loved the leads, especially samantha, the "I must be strong i can't be weak" character.

One of my favourite scenes is when one of the zombie cops gets a broken broom stick thrown right at his head.... that was a cool scene! And the words in the 'codex' book glowing as the main character held the book only when she touched it was pretty cool too!
