Nichols mentions buying "a bagel--glatt kosher." "Glatt, which means "smooth," applies only to meat and refers to the interior surface of a butchered animal's lungs. In addition, a store claiming to be "glatt kosher" wouldn't be doing business on the Sabbath.
The two Hasidic youths at the beginning of the episode argue whether or not to make an emergency call on the Sabbath. In actuality, neither would be carrying phones on the Sabbath, much less arguing about making calls on them.
